The Cleveland Center supplies alternators to locomotive manufacturing sites and repairs points across the globe. The site focuses on safe, efficient processes, while continuously driving out costs. The Electric Mechanic A is responsible for performing operations that involve but not limited to dismantling, cleaning, repairing, rebuilding of components across multiple product lines in an effective and efficient manner for the organization. Employees are involved in 5S and lean projects. This role will report directly to the Supervisor.\n\nThis is a 2nd shift position with standard hours Monday-Friday 3:00pm-11:30pm.\n\nDuties and Responsibilities:\nPerform complicated operations involving assembling, dismantling, cleaning, inspecting, and repairing of components within the department.\nDemonstrated ability with a focus on safety awareness and accident prevention. Perform complicated operations involving assembling, dismantling, cleaning, inspecting and repairing of components within the department.\nUnderstanding of electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, maintenance manuals and instructions, parts lists and prints.\nKnowledge and experience in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and the ability to identify and correct problems.\nAbility to meet aggressive delivery schedules and productivity goals and to make/implement recommendations that will both improve the repair process and quality.\nFlexibility to perform all tasks required to repair Alternators and Generators.\nPerform 5S and lean projects.\nUse of torches and large impact guns.\nFamiliar with sanders, grinders, drills, and a variety of other hand tools.\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\nAt least 1 year in manufacturing environment or equivalent experience.\nHigh School Diploma or GED.\nTow Motor experience preferred.\n\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:\nAbility to work unsupervised.\nAbility to work in a fast-paced environment.\nAbility to clearly communicate ideas and concepts.\n\nPhysical Demands:\nEmployee is regularly required to talk and hear.\nEmployee is regularly required to see and observe small handwriting, labels, and components.\nEmployee is required to wear steel toe shoes, safety glasses at all times while on production floor.\nLift up to 50lbs.\nPosition requires the employee to be on-site during scheduled shift to perform daily duties and responsibilities.\n\nWork Environment:\nThe employee will normally work in an industrial environment, with frequent exposure to electronic testing equipment.\nDuring visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions.\nIs occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.\n\nOur job titles may span more than one career level. The salary rate for this role is 25.46/hr.\n\nThe actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
