General Job Description\nThe Assistant Controller supports the Controller in the day-to-day leadership of the corporate accounting function for GWP Holdings LLC and its operating entities, Western Peterbilt, LLC and Western Truck Parts & Equipment LLC. This position is responsible for the integrity of the general ledger, timely and accurate month-end and year-end close, consolidated financial reporting, technical accounting research, and oversight of the transactional accounting teams (cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and fixed assets). This position plays a key leadership role in developing accounting staff, strengthening internal controls, driving continuous process improvement, and supporting the Company's Dealer Management System, reporting, and automation initiatives. This position is based at the Company's western headquarters in Sumner, Washington.\nThe duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to the position.\nResponsibilities\nCoordinate the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.\nMaintain the integrity of the general ledger across GWP Holdings LLC, Western Peterbilt, LLC, Western Truck Parts & Equipment LLC, and related entities, including review and approval of journal entries, account reconciliations, and analytical review of financial results.\nPrepare consolidated and entity-level financial statements, supporting schedules, and management reporting packages for executive leadership, lenders, and manufacturer partners (Peterbilt/PACCAR, Volvo/Mack, Autocar, Hino, Battle Motors).\nOversee accounting for cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, parts inventory, fixed assets, prepaids, accruals, facility leases, and debt.\nSupervise daily cash management and bank reconciliation process, initiate wire transfers and intercompany settlements between operating entities.\nResearch technical accounting issues as requested\nEstablish, document, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls\nProvide support for financial and tax audits.\nSupport the annual operating and capital budget process.\nSupport federal, state, and local tax compliance activities, including federal excise tax (Form 720), multi-state sales/use tax, Washington B&O tax, motor vehicle excise tax, property tax, and income tax filings.\nTrain, coach, and supervise the corporate accounting team (including the Senior Accountant and transactional accounting staff); manage workload, performance, and development.\nDrive continuous improvement of accounting processes, close cycle time, reconciliation quality, and reporting deliverables.\nParticipate in a wide variety of special projects, including acquisitions, entity restructurings, system implementations, and ad hoc analyses.\nPerform other duties as assigned by the Controller or CFO.\nII. Minimum Job Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.\n5+ years of progressive accounting experience.\n2+ years of supervisory or managerial experience.\nThorough working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and strong technical accounting research skills.\nDemonstrated experience owning the month-end close, financial reporting, and external audit coordination.\nAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel; proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Teams.\nStrong problem-solving, multitasking, organization, communication, leadership, and managerial skills.\nIII. Desired Job Qualifications\nAutomotive, heavy-duty equipment, or other multi-location dealership industry experience.\nExperience with Karmak, CDK, or comparable dealership management systems.\nExperience with Power BI, SharePoint, and modern finance automation tools (e.g., OnPhase, Avalara, Billtrust).\nWorking knowledge of federal excise tax, multi-state sales/use tax, and dealer-specific accounting matters.\nIV. Mental Capability Requirements\nComprehension: Ability to understand opposing points of view on highly complex issues, negotiate, and integrate different viewpoints.\nOrganization: Ability to organize and prioritize work schedules of others on long-term basis.\nReasoning & Decision Making: Ability to make decisions with significant impact on department’s credibility, operations, and services.\nCommunication: Ability to formulate complex and comprehensive materials, such as legal documents, authoritative reports, official publications of major scope and impacts, and make formal presentations.\nMathematics: Ability to compute, analyze, and interpret complex statistical data and develop forecasts and computer models.\nV.
