This position executes established CMM programs, verifies product conformance, records inspection results, and identifies nonconforming conditions. The CMM Operator works closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality to ensure products meet engineering drawings, customer specifications, and quality standards.\r\nThis role is critical in supporting in-process, first article, and final inspections while maintaining compliance with ISO 9001:2015, AS9100, AS13000, customer requirements, and internal quality procedures.\r\nKey ResponsibilitiesCMM OperationSet up and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) using approved inspection programs.\r\nPerform in-process, first article, and final dimensional inspections of components and assemblies.\r\nLoad and secure parts using appropriate fixtures and establish proper alignments for inspection.\r\nVerify program selection, probe qualification, and machine readiness prior to inspection.\r\nMonitor inspection cycles and ensure accurate measurement results.\r\nNotify the CMM Programmer or Quality team of program errors, equipment issues, or measurement discrepancies.\r\nInspection & Quality VerificationInterpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and GD&T to understand inspection requirements.\r\nCompare inspection results to engineering and customer requirements.\r\nAccurately record measurement data and inspection results.\r\nIdentify and report nonconforming products or dimensional issues promptly.\r\nSegregate and document nonconforming material according to established procedures.\r\nPerform visual inspections as required to support dimensional verification.\r\nEquipment & DocumentationPerform daily CMM startup, shutdown, and verification procedures.\r\nEnsure CMM equipment, probes, fixtures, and accessories are maintained in proper working condition.\r\nReport equipment malfunctions or calibration concerns to the appropriate personnel.\r\nMaintain accurate inspection records, reports, and production documentation.\r\nFollow document control procedures to ensure the latest revisions of programs and drawings are used.\r\nProduction SupportSupport production by performing timely inspections to minimize delays.\r\nWork closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality personnel to resolve inspection issues.\r\nAssist with first article inspections (FAI), PPAP activities, and customer inspections as directed.\r\nParticipate in continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to improve inspection efficiency and workflow.\r\nMaintain a clean, organized, and safe inspection area.\r\nCompliance & SafetyFollow all company safety policies and procedures.\r\nAdhere to ISO 9001, AS9100, AS13000, customer, and internal quality requirements.\r\nHandle parts carefully to prevent damage during inspection.\r\nSupport internal and external audits by providing accurate inspection records when requested.\r\nQualificationsEducationHigh school diploma or GED required.\r\nTechnical certificate or coursework in manufacturing, machining, metrology, or quality inspection is preferred.\r\nExperience13 years of experience operating Coordinate Measuring Machines in a manufacturing environment preferred.\r\nAerospace or precision machining experience is highly desirable.\r\nExperience performing dimensional inspections using precision measuring equipment.\r\nTechnical SkillsAbility to operate Coordinate Measuring Machines using existing inspection programs.\r\nBasic understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T.\r\nExperience using precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, height gages, indicators, and gauges.\r\nBasic computer skills for entering inspection results and reviewing reports.\r\nAbility to read and follow work instructions, inspection plans, and manufacturing documentation.\r\nRequirements:\r\nPreferred QualificationsFamiliarity with PC-DMIS or other CMM software.\r\nKnowledge of aerospace quality standards including AS9100.\r\nExperience supporting first article inspections and production inspection activities.\r\nKey CompetenciesStrong attention to detail.\r\nCommitment to accuracy and quality.\r\nMechanical aptitude.\r\nGood organizational and time management skills.\r\nAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.\r\nStrong communication skills.\r\nDependable, safety-conscious, and quality-focused.\r\nPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for extended periods.\r\nAbility to lift up to 35 pounds occasionally.\r\nManual dexterity to handle precision components and measuring equipment.\r\nAbility to distinguish fine details and read precision measurement data.\r\nAbility to work in a manufacturing environment with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).\r\nWe are looking for people who are highly motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
