Program Director must believe the Program has the capacity to reduce inequities in public education by expanding opportunities and learning time.\n\nThe Program Director has overall responsibility for the growth, quality, and success of the after-school program operations, students’ achievement and safety, and staff. The primary task is to manage day-to-day operations to ensure that it is meeting its goals, quality standards and guidelines, and all contract requirements including health and safety. The Director needs strong budgeting capabilities. The Program Director works in conjunction with school educators, especially the principal, site staff, program collaborators, families, and community partners to implement the Leadership in Action model. She/he must foster an atmosphere of fun and learning where the concepts of teamwork, fair play, and sportsmanship flourish and enable participants to become effective members of the community, workforce, and family.\n\nThe Director needs skills to connect with highly diverse, multicultural populations of families and to help them learn skills they can use as parents to enable their children to succeed. They must work (a) in partnership with principal, (b) accountability for operations, staff, students & (c) management of day-to-day operations to ensure quality & contract requirements are met. Qualifications(a) BA preference for degree in education, child development, psychology or social work; (c) after-school management experience; (d) teaching experience preferred; (e) pass pre-employment investigation.\n\nApplicant must have DYCD Program Director experience.
