This role focuses on preconstruction analytics practices and subject matter expertise that supports the organization with reliable, timely, and fact-based historical project cost information. Employees in this specialty develop knowledge of historical cost data sources, data quality standards, data handling and preparation, and fundamentals of data modeling and reporting.\nThe position involves the following essential functions:\nGathering, preparing, and loading historical cost data from internal and external sources.\nProducing reports and insights from gathered data.\nMonitoring and assisting with estimate data quality, including meta data health checks, line item reviews, and coaching team members on proper data standards.\nDeveloping a foundational understanding of CMiC accounting system data (projects, job cost, subcontracts, vendors, departments, and changes).\nGathering and reviewing economic data for escalation analysis.\nUpdating the Beck Cost Index and assisting with quarterly projection updates.\nProducing escalation reports for specific date ranges and locations.\nContributing to the bi-annual Beck Cost Report by preparing comparisons, updating workbooks, and incorporating internal feedback.\nLearning basics of DAX, Power Query, and data modeling for Power BI.\nUsing Precon Analytics dashboards to provide insights or as tools for tasks.\nTaking DESTINI Estimator trainings.\nSupporting best practices and data quality in DESTINI Estimator.\nSupporting and developing functionality in Beck’s Excel Bid Tab.\nWho we think will be a great fit\nA person with the willingness to learn and be mentored under talented Senior Preconstruction Managers. This individual has a comprehensive understanding of building construction, excellent time management and organizational skills, a passion to get things done, and possesses uncompromising authenticity and integrity. This individual must have interest in the integrated project delivery method, sharing physical and mental space with fellow design team members, and a deep desire for innovating in process improvement and technology.\nPhysical Demands:\nFrequently operates a computer and other office productivity equipment; frequently ascends/descends ladders and stairs; constantly works in various outdoor weather conditions; frequently moves equipment up to 50Ibs to various locations on site; constantly communicates with subcontractors, vendors, and other members of project team; ability to constantly move around job site on uneven surfaces; Spends much of the day standing.
