In this role, you will design and develop robust backend systems that power mission-critical aviation software solutions. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality, scalable services while helping drive engineering best practices and code quality across the organization.\n\nAs a Senior Java Developer, you will collaborate closely with internal product, engineering, and quality teams to design, implement, and support backend services in a modern, distributed architecture. You will also contribute to mentoring, technical standards, and continuous improvement of our Java development ecosystem.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using modern Java frameworks and tools in a microservices environment.\nDevelop secure, high-performance, and scalable code to support mission-critical business processes.\nBuild and support event-driven and asynchronous processing within distributed systems.\nCollaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, QA, and operations teams to align technical solutions with product and business objectives.\nContribute to the evolution of Java development best practices, coding standards, tooling, and code review processes.\nServe as a technical mentor by providing guidance, knowledge sharing, and peer reviews to help elevate team capabilities.\nTroubleshoot, optimize, and monitor backend systems to ensure reliability, performance, and operational stability in production environments.\nEnsure adherence to security standards, data privacy requirements, and industry compliance standards across all code and system components.\nParticipate in architecture discussions and provide technical input on system design and scalability.\nOther duties as assigned.\nRequirements:\n\nRequired Skills and Experience\n\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience.\n7+ years of hands-on Java development experience, with a strong focus on backend service design and implementation.\nDeep understanding of object-oriented design, SOLID principles, functional programming concepts, and common design patterns.\nProven experience designing and building RESTful services, backend APIs, and asynchronous or event-driven processing within distributed systems.\nStrong proficiency in modern Java frameworks and ecosystems (e.g., Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Hibernate/JPA, or equivalent).\nDemonstrated ability to write clean, maintainable, scalable, and secure Java code suitable for mission-critical production systems.\nExperience with relational databases, data modeling, and performant data access patterns.\nProven ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex production issues, including performance bottlenecks and system reliability concerns.\nExperience monitoring and supporting backend systems in production environments with a focus on stability, resilience, and observability.\nComfortable working in Agile/Scrum environments and contributing to continuous improvement in development practices and team processes.\nStrong communication and collaboration skills when working with cross-functional teams such as product, QA, operations, and support.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nExperience working in microservices-based architectures and distributed systems.\nHands-on experience with containerized environments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud-native or microservice-friendly frameworks (e.g., Quarkus, Micronaut).\nFamiliarity with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, OCI, or Google Cloud Platform.\nExperience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing practices, and modern build/deployment workflows.\nKnowledge of security best practices, data protection, and compliance requirements in enterprise or regulated environments.\nOracle Database and PL/SQL experience.\nDomain experience in aviation, aerospace, logistics, or other regulated industries is a strong plus.\n\nOther requirements:\n\nAbility to travel domestically and internationally, for extended periods preferred.\nAbility to support global customers on different time zones by working different shifts as required.\n\nJob type: Full time / Salaried\n\nJob Level: Experience / Senior\n\nJob Location: Fully Onsite - Coral Gables\n\nJob Shift: First - 8a - 5p\n\nRemote: No\n\nTRAX USA Corp is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity in the workplace.
