We are committed to closing the equity gap and advancing the lives of children, families, and childcare educators in our city.\n\nController Job Summary:\nThe Controller reports to the CFO and will manage monthly closings. Compile, analyze and report accounting data for CFO and other users to make sound economic decisions. The controller will supervise a Payroll Specialist, Accounts Payable Accountant and Purchase Agent.\nController Primary Responsiblities\nAssist CFO with daily activities of Wu Yee’s fiscal department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements and annual audits and annual budgets.\nWork with Accounting Managers and other fiscal team members to ensure timely month-end closing. Ensuring accurate accounting of revenue and expenses.\nWork with external consultant on the ASC842 lease accounting.\nEnsure contract and grant compliance with Wu Yee government funders and private foundations.\nReconcile quarterly donor reports with Wu Yee advancement team to ensure accuracy.\nBe a key liaison in preparing annual audit materials and in corresponding with the auditors.\nWork with the contracting Accounting Manager to reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly, including Contract Advances and Account Receivable accounts.\nWork with budgeting Accounting Manager to perform monthly actual to budget forecasting and projections for all Wu Yee contracts.\nReview and approve payroll files and 403b contributions.\nImprove financial status by analyzing results, monitoring variances, identifying trends, recommending actions to the CFO.\nManage annual 403b pension plan and worker’s compensation audits.\nHelp with financial data associated with grant and contract applications.\nMaintain accounting knowledge by attending educational workshops.\nOther duties as assigned.\nKnowledge/Experience/Skills Required:\nBachelor’s degree in accounting.\nThree years of hands-on senior accounting experience with strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and accounting structure.\nKnowledge of program fund and grant accounting.\nPrior experience working with nonprofit accounting software.\nAbility to leverage strengths of the current finance team members, help to clarify roles and responsibilities and develop and implement training programs in order to maximize and reach optimal individual and organizational goals.\nExceptional written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills to effectively interface with senior management and staff.\nPersonal qualities of integrity, credibility, and unwavering commitment to Wu Yee Children's Services' mission.\nComfortable partnering with staff and management, working with highly confidential data and being effective in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.\nSolid experience coordinating audit activities and managing reporting, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger and payroll.\nExcellent Excel (vlookup, pivot table, match and index, etc.) skills.\nPublic or government accounting experience preferred.\nExperiences in NetSuite preferred.\nCompensation and Benefits:\nSalary Range $150,000 to 160,000\n403(b) matching\nDental insurance\nHealth insurance 100% covered\nPaid sick time\nPaid time off\nPaid training\nVision insurance\nLandmark Chiropractic\nEmployee Assistance program\nLife and AD&D insurance\nWorkers’ Compensation insurance\nFlexible Spending Account\nFull-time, exempt position\nDiversity, Equity and Inclusion Commitments:\n\nAs a provider of services to our most vulnerable children and families, Wu Yee Children’s Services is committed to creating an inclusive culture where similarities are highlighted, and bridges are built between diverse populations.
