OverviewLocated five miles from downtown Boston, Tufts University is a Division III member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the highly-competitive New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC). Tufts student-athletes participate in 30 varsity sports, 32 club sports and a number of intramural sports. Tufts Athletics has won 19 NCAA team championships since 2010 and has finished in the top 10 of the Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup every year for the past decade, including winning the Director's Cup in 2022 as the top Division III Athletic Department in the nation. They experience the joy of personal growth inherent in high level competition, while cultivating lifelong connections with teammates, the Tufts community and the world around us.What You'll DoAssists the Head Coach in all aspects of running an NCAA Division III men's basketball program by educating and coaching student-athletes, recruiting highly selective prospective student-athletes, developing and implementing practice sessions and game strategies, and supporting student-athletes in their personal, academic and athletic growths and development at Tufts.Educate and coach student athletesPractice organizationAssist in running clinics and other fundraising effortsRecruiting highly selective prospective student-athletesSecondary assignment assigned by director of athleticsWhat We're Looking ForBasic Requirements:Knowledge and experience typically acquired by:Bachelor's degreePrior coaching experienceStrong leadership, interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to develop and relate to student-athletes in an extremely competitive academic environmentDedication to the full academic, athletic and social development of student-athletesCommitment to gender equity, rules compliance, diversity and inclusion and the mission of Tufts UniversityValid US driver’s license and ability to travel.Preferred Qualifications:Prior experience coaching at the collegiate levelPrior competitive playing experienceAthletics coaches are employed by Tufts University for 10 months out of the calendar year. Compensation shall be pro-rated based on the portion of a full-time position for which the staff member is employed. (10 month range: min-$30,250, mid-$37,625, max-$45,375)Pay RangeMinimum $37,000.00, Midpoint $46,100.00, Maximum $55,600.00Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
