Position Summary
The Sales Specialist is responsible for cultivating, maintaining, and growing customer relationships while driving sales through both existing accounts and new business development. This is a fast‑paced, high‑accountability role that blends relationship management, estimating, follow‑through, and proactive sales activity.
You will manage an existing and active customer portfolio, primarily comprised of B2B relationships, respond quickly to leads and inquiries, build accurate estimates, and coordinate internally to ensure customers receive an exceptional experience from first call to final delivery.
Core Responsibilities
Sales & Relationship Management
Grow and maintain strong relationships with contractors, builders, and customers through regular check‑ins and proactive outreach
Manage and grow an existing sales portfolio while actively pursuing new customers through warm and cold leads
Follow up promptly on all leads, phone calls, emails, and inquiries—no leads left behind
Act as a trusted partner to customers by understanding their needs and recommending the right metal solutions
Represent Indiana Metal with professionalism, honesty, and confidence in every interaction
Estimating & Project Support
Build accurate material takeoffs and estimates using blueprints, EagleView (or similar aerial reports), and internal systems
Deliver estimates in a timely manner and follow through until the job is won, lost, or closed out
Work closely with Production and Scheduling teams to ensure accurate timelines for fabrication and delivery
Communicate clearly with customers regarding lead times, changes, and expectations
Organization & Accountability
Use CRM systems consistently to track leads, estimates, follow‑ups, and customer activity
Keep organized records, using our software for digital storage and transparency, to ensure smooth handoffs between sales, production, and delivery
Participate in weekly sales meetings and contribute ideas, insights, and accountability
Meet or exceed individual sales goals through disciplined daily activity

Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 1 year experience in sales, construction sales, or a related role
Knowledge of the construction industry; roofing and metal roofing experience strongly preferred
Ability to read blueprints and aerial measurement reports for estimating purposes
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable using CRM systems and Microsoft Office
Ability to juggle multiple accounts and projects in a fast‑paced environment
Strong problem‑solving skills and customer‑first mindset
