Job Description Job Title: Draftsman/EstimatorFull-Time | Pay DOESchedule: Monday–Thursday, four 10-hour daysLocation: Alpine, WY (new shop)South Park Metalworks is growing and opening a new shop in Alpine, WY. We are seeking a detail-oriented Draftsman/Estimator to produce shop drawings using SketchUp and prepare cost estimates for our metalwork, welding, and fabrication projects. This role is key to ensuring projects are properly scoped, drawn, and priced to support efficient fabrication and successful project delivery.The ideal candidate has an eye for detail, the ability to read and interpret drawings, and strong organizational skills. This position works closely with management, customers, and shop personnel to deliver accurate drawings and competitive estimates that drive successful projects from concept through completion.What You'll DoDevelop detailed shop drawings, fabrication plans, and design layouts using SketchUpPrepare detailed cost estimates and quotes for fabrication and installation projectsReview project specifications, customer requirements, drawings, and field measurements to produce accurate drafts and material listsSource pricing from suppliers and subcontractors and incorporate accurate cost data into estimatesCoordinate with customers, project managers, and shop staff to clarify project scope and design intentUpdate and revise drawings and estimates as project requirements change throughout the project lifecycleTrack project drawings, revisions, and estimating documentation in both paper and electronic formatsCommunicate design intent, drawing details, and fabrication specifications to shop and field personnelPerform material takeoffs and assist with material ordering based on approved drawingsReview project drawings for constructability, fabrication efficiency, and cost-effectivenessMaintain organized records of drawings, bids, quotes, and project documentationHelp maintain drafting standards, drawing templates, and estimating processesSupport a professional, organized, and efficient work environmentPerform additional drafting, estimating, and coordination duties as assignedWhat We're Looking ForHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredStrong attention to detail and accuracyBasic computer proficiency, including email, file management, Microsoft Office, and ability to learn drafting and estimating softwareStrong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracyAbility to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environmentProfessional attitude, dependable attendance, and strong work ethicPreferred QualificationsConstruction or steel fabrication experienceExperience using SketchUp drafting softwareConstruction estimating experienceExperience reading and interpreting architectural and structural drawingsWhat's In It For You?Competitive pay based on experience (DOE)Health and dental insurance401(k) with company match7 Paid HolidaysPaid Time Off, in addition to paid holidaysMonday–Thursday, four 10-hour days (3-day weekends every week)Brand-new shop located in Alpine, WYWork location: This job is on-site in Alpine, WY.
