Work where you matter.\nA Brief Overview\nPerforms all cardiovascular and/or peripheral vascular procedures at a technical and professional level requiring minimal supervision of technical detail. The Cath Lab Technologist performs a variety of technical procedures on both inpatient and outpatients that require responsible and independent judgment. The individual will assume responsibility and initiative for designated areas and procedures as required. The individual will assist with training, education, and orientation of staff and others. The Cath Lab Technologist will assist in maintenance of the CQI program.\nResponsible to adhering to and following all Cardiovascular/Angiography Laboratory policy and procedures, and the guidelines of other pertinent regulating agencies.\nWhat you will do\n\nReceives and screens patients per procedure. Performs pre-procedure assessment.\n\nProvides pre-and-post procedure education to the patient and family members.\n\nAssembles the proper paperwork necessary prior to the procedure and completes all necessary documentation for completion of the patient's chart.\n\nAssists the physician and scrub person during the case.\n\nAdministers medication and therapy according to the physician's orders.\n\nOperates diagnostic equipment necessary to complete procedures.\n\nProvides input regarding new policies and procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization/Angiography Lab.\n\nOperates and maintain the hemodynamic monitoring equipment.\n\nMaintains transducer balance to hemodynamic system.\n\nRecommends interventions to attain expected outcomes.\n\nEssential Qualifications\nThe individual must be able to work the hours specified.
