Salary:The Weitz Company is hiring a construction Assistant Project Manager to join our Florida team in West Palm Beach! The Assistant Project Manager collaborates with the Project Manager to profitably manage a small project or a specific scope of a larger project. This role will also manage the administrative and field construction activities on their assigned project.The Weitz Company has been Building a Better Way since 1855. We believe our employees to be our most valuable asset, and we are committed to growing a diverse and inclusive culture that inspires, motivates, and continuously improves.What Youll Do:Understand contract terms and obligations to ensure work in progress is within scopeManage construction documents, drawings, requests for information (RFI) and submittalsPrepare inspections, compliance audits and the non-conformance logManage material and equipment delivery status and project logs (i.e. buyouts, subcontractor material status reports, submittals, RFIs)Assist in the preconstruction, project planning, and buyout processCreate and manage scopes of work to be included in subcontracts and/or purchase order agreementsApprove subcontractor and vendor pay applicationsAssist in completion of monthly project status reports (MPSR), owner billings, and financial risk assessmentsEnsure subcontract agreements and amendments are executedTrack and negotiate subcontractor requests for changeUtilize virtual design tools to assist with project coordinationFacilitate regular project meetings; record and distribute meeting minutes as neededManage closeout information, punch list items, as-built drawings, and warranty processFacilitate dispute resolution among subcontractors, vendors, architects and ownersIdentify and propose value engineering and scope reduction opportunitiesAssist with mentoring and providing development opportunities for team membersWhat Were Looking For:Experience: 3+ years of experience in construction project managementGeneral contractor (GC) experience is preferredAn industry-related college degree is required; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be consideredKnowledge and application of Lean principlesSkills:Project management skills and commercial construction knowledgeStrong negotiation and relationship building skillsExcellent verbal and written communicationAbility to make sound judgements and decisionsAnalytical thinker with a high level of initiativeAdaptable to meet the needs of the business and the clientDetail-oriented and highly organizedTechnology:Experience with JDE, Procore, Bluebeam, P6 is a plusProficient in basic computer software including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OutlookAbility to learn specific job-related software upon hireWhat We Offer:Competitive PayRewarding Bonus ProgramComprehensive Benefits Package with Tax-Advantaged HSA and FSA offeringsEmployer-Paid Short- and Long-Term Disability ProgramsEmployer-Paid Life InsuranceGenerous Paid Time Off Provisions401K Retirement Savings Plan with Company MatchTuition ReimbursementFully Paid Parental LeaveVoluntary Products Including: Critical Illness Insurance and Accident InsuranceCorporate Wellness Program with Wellness Time Off and RewardsVisa sponsorship is not available for this position at this time.The Company does not accept unsolicited resumes from search firms or agencies.
