(GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.\n\nWe have an exciting opportunity for a System Safety Engineer in our Safety and RAM Engineering group.\n\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nAbility to learn aircraft and ground station subsystems and become an expert on how the systems work as a whole.\nSupport safety analysis of our Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS). The multiple programs in development support the US Army and US Air Force, along with many other US and Foreign customers.\nIn this role, the successful candidate will work on an integrated System Safety team to support customer risk acceptance and airworthiness certification activities.\nResponsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:\nDevelopment of a System Safety Program Plan, Preliminary Hazard Analysis, Functional Hazard Analysis, Common Cause Analysis, System Safety Analysis / Safety Assessment Report, and support of the Hazard Tracking System.\nWriting clear and concise system safety requirements and support of relevant validation and verification activities.\nIdentifying and categorizing Safety-Significant (safety-critical and safety-related) functions and their effects within the hardware, software, and human interfaces of the design architecture.\nPerforming Fault Tree Analyses.\nConducting Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA).\nSupporting the Design Assurance process and other related design review milestones (i.e., PDR, CDR, etc.).\nWe recognize and appreciate the value and contributions of individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences and welcome all qualified individuals to apply.\n\nJob Qualifications\nTypically requires a bachelors or masters degree in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and two or more years of engineering experience with a bachelors degree.
