{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"f98e0c9ccb8a3779c33c8f11","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/f98e0c9ccb8a3779c33c8f11","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/f98e0c9ccb8a3779c33c8f11","title":"Flex Driver","description":"JOB STATUS:\nUNTIL FILLED\n\nPOSTING DATE:\n07/20/2026\n\nPOSTING NUMBER:\n00007959\n\nLOCATION:\nTransportation\n\nPOSITION TITLE:\nFlex Driver\n\nJOB DESCRIPTION:\n\nPrimary Purpose: To provide safe and efficient transportation for students.\n\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nMajor Responsibilities and Duties\n\nAll the duties of a bus driver as listed in the Driver’s Handbook.\nAssigned to a group of drivers to assist and monitor daily operations.\nAssist drivers with required paperwork.\nCommunicate to Routing Team daily route status issues.\nAssist the Routing Team daily with Routing Conflicts and resolution of problems or complaints.\nMonitor assigned schools on a daily basis.\nMonitor school arrival and departure times.\nAssist drivers and schools with route changes.\nAssist with training and re-training of drivers.\nGather data on daily operations.\nServe as sub driver on routes when needed.\nCheck out road conditions.\nLiaison between Routing Team and their assigned group of drivers.\nAssist in dispatch.\nAssist in main office as receptionist.\nAssist route drivers with student discipline problems.\nAssist with Special Needs Transportation as needed.\nAssist with coordination of annual Safety Rally.\nAssist Routing Team with planning and scheduling of all transportation routing programs (mid-day, swim, extended day, shuttles, summer school).\nMentor new employees.\nAttendance at work is an essential function.\nOther duties as assigned by supervisor or designee.\n\nEXPERIENCE:\n\nMinimum Experience:\nOne year of successful bus driving experience with CDL required\n\nQUALIFICATIONS:\n\nMinimum Education/Certification:\nHigh school diploma or G.E.D.\nValid Texas driver’s license/commercial driver’s license (CDL)\nAcceptable driving record as determined by the Texas Department of Safety\nEligible for coverage under the district vehicle insurance program\nCertification of good health as required by the State of Texas signed by a licensed physician\nSpecial Knowledge/Skills:\nAbility to read and understand instructions for transportation and safety procedures\nAbility to communicate verbally and through use of the written word directions or instructions regarding policies and procedures implemented by the district\n\nOTHER INFORMATION:\n\nWorking Conditions: Mental/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds and over), pushing, reaching above shoulders, use of fingers, walking (2 hours per day), standing (2 hours per day), operation of motor vehicle, specific visual requirements (driving, depth perception, ability to distinguish basic colors), specific hearing requirements (driving, oral and phone conversations).
