Flexibility is available for a hybrid work environment (candidate will need to live within a commutable distance of the office).\nResponsibilities\nThe Structural Engineer will share responsibility with the rest of the department to produce a product consistent with POWER's mission statement and our culture. They are expected to support the department in achieving the department goals, maintain POWER's high-quality standards, promote internal teamwork, and meet the needs of our clients.\nPerforms all aspects of substation structural design, including preparation of steel performance drawings, fabrication drawings, and foundation design\nDevelopment of steel and concrete construction specifications, cost estimates, engineering proposals, and project schedules\nUnderstand and incorporate typical structural code requirements\nCoordination with all disciplines contributing to electrical substation design\nPreparation of calculation packages to satisfy client and code requirements\nPerform QA/QC for deliverables to clients\nSupport Project Manager and Project Engineer with project reporting needs\nSupport proposal development\nSupport the mentorship and training of other team members\nShall understand and adhere to client standards and processes while working individually or within a team to complete complex and technically challenging designs\nOccasional travel will be required\nRequired Education/Experience\nBSCE (Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering) degree from an accredited college\n4+ years structural design experience\nMechanical reasoning skills and attention to detail\nFinite Element modeling experience; Risa3D or STAAD Pro\nFamiliarity with structural analysis, concrete design, steel design, soil mechanics and foundation design\nDemonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, tracking and organizing many tasks of varying importance and size\nAbility to perform calculations to size steel structures and concrete foundations\nProven ability and desire to mentor and help others\nStrong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel\nLegally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship\nDesired Education/Experience\nSeven (7) or more years of experience in structural engineering\nSeismic design experience\nExperience with RISA, MathCAD, LPile, and STAAD are beneficial\nSuccessful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam\nProfessional Engineering license (PE) or the ability to obtain licensure and ability to obtain licensure in multiple states\nAbility to successfully participate in multiple projects concurrently and manage budgets and schedules\nAt POWER Engineers, you can have a rewarding career on every level.
