In addition, you will work closely with stakeholders including Project Management, Protection & Controls Engineering and Test in the development of project test and commissioning plans with a focus on ensuring safety and eliminating issues and errors during the commissioning process. This position is responsible for commissioning of substation equipment as individual units (breakers, transformers, etc.) as well as overall project commission including controls, systems, relays, metering, etc. This position may also provide technical and administrative guidance to Commissioning Engineers in the field.\n\nKey/Core Responsibilities:\n\nResponsible for assisting in the development of standards and procedures for the successful testing and commissioning of Transmission & Distribution (HV & MV) substation projects.\n\nResponsible for oversight to ensure substation projects are successfully tested and commissioned in accordance with industry and Eversource standards with a high focus on safety and human performance while maintaining system reliability.\n\nResponsible for project test data review, collection, and acceptance.\n\nCollaborates effectively with other engineers within the Engineering organization to ensure consistency and teamwork.\n\nResponsible for assisting in the development and/or training of less experienced team members.\n\nAccountable for root‑cause analysis, development and implementation of corrective actions relating to project commissioning.\n\nResponsible for project audits to ensure safety, human performance and compliance with standards and work methods are being met.\n\nPerforms supervisory duties as needed/as assigned.\n\nMay require work performed outside of normal business hours.\n\nQualifications\n\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology required.\n\nMinimum of eight (8) years in utility distribution/transmission engineering required.\n\nElectrical engineering knowledge with a focus on substation project testing and commissioning is preferred.\n\nValid CT or MA driver’s license.\n\nWorking Conditions\n\nWork is performed in both office and field environments.\n\nMust be available to travel between CT and MA for assignments.\n\nMust be available to work emergency storm assignment as required.\n\nCompetencies\n\nBuild trusting relationships\n\nManage and develop people\n\nFoster teamwork and cross‑functional collaboration\n\nLead change\n\nCommunicate strategic vision\n\nCreate an engaged workforce\n\nFocus on the customer\n\nTake ownership & accountability\n\nCompensation and Benefits\nEversource offers a competitive total rewards program.
