Medical Receptionist
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing various administrative tasks. This role requires proficiency in medical office systems and terminology, with a focus on ensuring a smooth patient experience in our clinic.
Responsibilities
Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing a positive first impression of the clinic.
Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently, ensuring accurate data entry into our systems.
Schedule appointments and follow up with patients regarding their visits.
Verify patient insurance information, including Medicare eligibility, and assist with any related inquiries.
Maintain organized patient records and ensure compliance with privacy regulations.
Process billing information and manage payments as needed.
Utilize Electronic Medical Record software for managing patient information and appointments.
Communicate effectively with patients.
Assist with office management tasks.
Stay updated on medical terminology and ICD-10 coding to support clinical staff as necessary.
Experience
Previous experience in a medical office setting is highly preferred.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally.
Familiarity with medical office systems, particularly AthenaNet, is an advantage.
Knowledge of Medicare processes and insurance verification is beneficial.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
