D3 Search is seeking a Collections Manager for a well-established and highly respected CA-based law practice headquartered in downtown Los Angeles, CA (90071).Position Title🎯:Collections ManagerNote: 7+ yrs. relevant LAW FIRM financial/accounting/collections experience is REQUIREDLocation/Map📌:Los Angeles, CA (90071)Employment Status:Full-time/direct-hire employment opportunity.Employer Work Model:Flexible hybrid 4/1 work model (4 onsite & 1 remote).Note: Employer will NOT consider a fully remote work model request.Position Summary📒:A leading CA statewide law practice seeks a results-driven Collections Manager to lead their accounts receivable and collections function, accelerating cash flow and reducing delinquency across a sophisticated legal billing environment. This role balances rigorous risk management with strong client relationship stewardship, ensuring timely, compliant collections while supporting firm revenue goals. The Collections Manager will establish processes, leverage technology, and partner closely with internal stakeholders to drive measurable outcomes.Responsibilities📈:Lead and develop a team of five collectors, providing day-to-day direction, workload management, and escalation support.Design, implement, and continuously refine standardized collections processes and procedures.Own end-to-end collections operations, including portfolio assignment, outreach cadence, dispute resolution, payment plans, write-off recommendations, and reporting.Oversee and optimize use of e-billing platforms and client portals; ensure adherence to client billing guidelines and timely invoice acceptance.Recruit, hire, onboard, train, and coach team members; deliver ongoing skills development and mentorship.Set clear performance targets and conduct regular performance reviews.Partner cross-functionally with Billing, Finance/Accounting, Partners, and Client Relations to resolve billing issues, align on client strategies, and support matter management.Monitor portfolio risk, escalate emerging issues, and recommend remediation strategies grounded in data and client history.Produce accurate, timely collections and aging reports; analyze trends and present insights to leadership with actionable recommendations.Champion continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging technology and process redesign to enhance efficiency, compliance, and client experience.Required Qualifications & Skills📢:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience considered.5+ years of progressive experience in collections and/or accounts receivable with measurable results improving cash flow and reducing delinquency.5+ years of managerial experience leading collections teams, including goal setting, coaching, and performance management.Must have experience in a law firm or professional services environment.Proficiency with Elite 3E or Aderant (or comparable enterprise legal/financial systems).Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis.Proven ability to meet deadlines and perform under pressure in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills with both internal stakeholders and clients.Salary 💵/Compensation💰& Health Benefits:Yearly salary range is up to 120K (DOE/DOQ) plus a comprehensive and robust health benefits package, generous PTO, flexible hybrid work model (4/1), onsite parking, pet insurance, 401K, referral program, annual salary reviews/increases and lucrative bonuses, and many other notable employee-centered perks, etc.If interested in this Collections Manager role in Los Angeles, CA (90071), and you meet the above qualifications/requirements, please do not hesitate to contact the following D3 rep.:Don Moser ~D3 Search📬 | ☎️ 213-785-2485🌐www.d3search.comD3 Legal Search LLC (aka D3 Search), and its clients are equal opportunity employers.
