The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience and time in the role.\n\nSummary\nThis role designs, develops, tests, and maintains reliable and secure software solutions that support BCU’s business operations and member experience. Contributes across the software development lifecycle and works closely with senior developers, architects, and business partners to deliver high quality applications aligned with enterprise standards.\nThe role is expected to work independently on well-defined tasks, contribute to team deliverables, and continuously grow technical and professional skills.\n\nRole and Responsibilities\n\nDesign, develop, test, and maintain software components and applications using established development standards and best practices.\nImplement business and technical requirements into clean, maintainable, and secure code.\nParticipate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, stand ups, refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.\nWrite and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure application quality and reliability.\nCollaborate with senior developers and architects on solution design and implementation.\nParticipate in code reviews, incorporating feedback to improve code quality and consistency.\nAssist with application deployments and support releases through CI/CD pipelines.\nInvestigate and resolve application defects and support incidents with guidance as needed.\nMaintain accurate technical documentation for assigned applications and components.\nFollow secure development practices and comply with BCU policies and regulatory requirements.\nContinuously learn and apply new tools, technologies, and development techniques.\nQualifications and Education Requirements\n\nBachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.\nMinimum 3 years of professional software development experience.\nExperience with Microsoft-based development technologies, including:\nC# and .NET (.NET Core / modern .NET preferred)\nASP.NET MVC and RESTful API development\nFrontend development using Angular or similar frameworks\nWorking knowledge of source control and DevOps tools such as Git and Azure DevOps.\nExperience working in an Agile development environment.\nFamiliarity with relational databases and data access technologies (T SQL, LINQ).\nUnderstanding secure coding practices and basic application security concepts.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a team.\nStrong problem solving and analytical skills.\nClear, professional communication skills.\nAttention to detail and commitment to code quality.\nWillingness to learn and adapt in a changing technical environment.\nAbility to work effectively as part of a collaborative development team.\nProfessional accountability and follow-through on assigned work.\nPreferred\n\nExperience in the banking industry. Credit Union experience a major plus.\nKnowledge of Symitar PowerOn language.\nKnowledge OpCon technologies.\nExposure to Azure cloud services (PaaS or IaaS).\nExperience with automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.\nFamiliarity with integration patterns, APIs, or messaging technologies.\nExposure to authentication and authorization concepts (OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML).\nExperience supporting or modernizing existing enterprise or legacy applications.\nFamiliarity with content management systems or financial services platforms.\nBCU Shared Values:\nWe foster an environment of INCLUSION.
