ContextGlobal is hiring multiple full-time ASL Educational Interpreters to support Deaf and hard-of-hearing members of the Arlington Public Schools (APS) community. Whether you’re a recent Interpreter Training Program graduate looking for your first professional placement or an experienced interpreter ready for a stable school-year role, we’d like to meet you.This is a school-calendar position — you’ll work the academic year and have summers and school breaks off, with optional supplemental assignments available if you want them.About the RoleYou’ll be placed in an Arlington Public Schools school for the duration of the school year (or as needed) and provide 1:1 ASL interpreting within the school setting for students and staff who use ASL as their primary mode of communication. This is a full-time staff position; qualified independent contractors will also be considered.What You'll DoProvide ASL interpreting across academic, administrative, and social settings within an Arlington Public Schools schoolVoice for ASL users and interpret for colleagues, school personnel, and visiting professionalsCollaborate with school staff for assignment context, scheduling, and ongoing supportMaintain professional, ethical conduct in all school-community interactionsRequired QualificationsCompletion of an Interpreter Training Program OR equivalent demonstrated interpreting experienceProficient signing and voicing skillsWorking knowledge of K-12 educational vocabularyProficiency in ASL and strong understanding of Deaf cultureAdherence to the RID Code of Professional ConductPreferred QualificationsEIPA score on file, OR actively preparing to sit for EIPA certificationGraduate of an accredited Interpreter Training Program1+ year of K–12 educational interpreting experience (recent ITP graduates also highly encouraged to apply)Familiarity with K–12 school operations and administrative processesPay & BenefitsStarting at $35/hr for recent ITP graduates, up to $50/hr for experienced interpretersMedical and dental insurance401(k)Annual professional development budget for CEUs, conferences, credential renewals, and certification exams (EIPA, VQAS, NIC, BEI)Summers and school breaks off (school-year contract)Peer support opportunitiesCore CompetenciesEthical decision-makingExcellent customer service and interpersonal skillsAbility to work effectively across the school community — colleagues, administrators, and visiting professionals from diverse backgroundsInterview ProcessWe review every application and reach out to qualified applicants within 2 business days to schedule an interpreting screening.
