Time will be spent split between CAD Drafting and software development.\n\nThe position will be responsible for\n\nWorking under lead software developer’s direction to write and troubleshoot code for in-house custom programs.\n\n* Ability to write clean, well-structured code.\n* Ability to participate in code reviews.\n* Ability to define user requirements and communicate on feasibility of requirements.\n\nExcel and database coding\n\n* Support team with advanced spreadsheets and database functions.\n\nAutoCAD Drafting Support\n\n* modifying and creating Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) in AutoCAD\n* modifying and creating piping isometric and plan drawing from 3D models\n* understanding and implementing piping specifications, and\n* providing drafting support for other disciplines.\n\n*Experience:*\n\nWorking knowledge of maintaining and improving an existing code infrastructure is preferred. Experience with translating non-technical feature-requests into a code implementation is desirable. Experience with process plant design and typical construction methods would be beneficial.\n\n*Requirements:*\n\nApplicants should be team players, detail oriented, and self-driven. It is important that applicants have internal motivation and a thirst to expand their skillset.\n\nFamiliar with Microsoft technologies such as:\n\n* SQL Server\n* .NET Framework\n* Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF)\n* XAML\n* VB.NET (or C# given the overlap between languages)\n* VBA\n* Familiarity with version control, such as GIT\n* Familiarity with AutoCAD ARX SDK.\n\nBasic knowledge of AutoCAD and advanced knowledge of MS Excel & MS Word is expected. CGI will additionally train otherwise qualified applicant.\n\n*Education:*\n\nA drafting or programming degree is preferred but strong consideration will be given to other degrees based on experience and attitude.\n\n*Company Details*\n\nCGI is located in Laurel, MT, just outside of Billings, MT. CGI offers competitive wages, vacation and holiday pay, retirement match and health/dental/vision/life insurance.
