Legal Assistant

We are known for our collaborative environment, commitment to excellence, and strong client advocacy.We are currently seeking an experienced Legal Assistant with civil litigation experience to join our dynamic team in our [Location] office, working with attorneys focusing on medical malpractice, automobile negligence, and other general liability matters.The ideal candidate will have at least three (3) years of civil litigation experience (preferably defense) and a strong background in supporting attorneys throughout all stages of litigation, including case management, document preparation, and trial preparation. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist attorneys with case management from inception through trial and post-trialDraft, proofread, and format legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and correspondenceFile documents electronically with federal and state courtsManage calendaring of court deadlines, hearings, depositions, and client meetingsOrganize and maintain case files, exhibits, and evidencePrepare for and assist with trialCommunicate with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and expert witnessesProvide general administrative support to attorneys as neededQualifications & SkillsMinimum of 3+ years of civil litigation experience (defense preferred)Georgia litigation experience requiredStrong knowledge of state court procedures and e-filing systemsProficiency in PeachCourt, Odyssey, PACER, and ResearchGAProficiency in Microsoft Office, case management software, and legal research toolsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsHigh level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasksStrong organizational and time management skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a team environmentThis is an in-office position; no remote work is availableWhy Join Us?Wicker Smith takes pride in providing our employees with an excellent work environment, competitive pay and benefits, and endless opportunities for professional growth.
