IES Commercial, Inc. – DBA IES Electrical, seeking full-time Superintendent - Data Center, Chester, Virginia.Job SummaryResponsible for the overall supervision, coordination, and execution of electrical construction activities on complex, fast-paced mission-critical/data center projects. Ensures all field operations are performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, schedules, and quality standards. Provides leadership to field personnel, coordinates with subcontractors and other trades, and serves as the primary on-site authority for electrical operations.Leads all on-site electrical construction activities for mission-critical/data center projects from mobilization through commissioning and turnoverSupervises, coordinates, and directs field personnel, subcontractors, and vendors to meet project milestonesDevelops and executes short-interval plans, look-ahead schedules, and manpower forecastsEnsures strict adherence to safety policies, OSHA standards, and site-specific safety requirements; promotes a proactive safety cultureInterprets and enforces compliance with construction drawings, specifications, and applicable codes (NEC, NFPA, Local codes)Coordinates closely with project management, engineering, and other trades to resolve conflicts and maintain workflow continuityMonitors productivity, tracks progress, and implements corrective actions to maintain schedule and budget targetsLeads huddles, weekly coordination meetings, and subcontractor alignment meetingsSupports QA/QC processes, inspections, testing, and commissioning activities to ensure system reliability and uptimeIdentifies and mitigates risks, delays, and field issues in real timeEnsures proper material management, delivery coordination, and site logisticsMaintains accurate field documentation including daily reports, manpower logs, and progress updates.QualificationsHS Diploma/GEDTechnical or construction-related degree preferred.Valid Electrical License on Journeyman or Master level preferred.8 to 12 years recent electrical construction experience with 1 to 3 years experience in Superintendent or lead supervisory role.Direct experience on data center or mission-critical projects strongly preferred.Extensive knowledge of critical power systems and redundancy (N, N+1, 2N configurations).Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, and commissioning processes.Ability to read and interpret complex electrical drawings, specifications, and BIM coordination documents.OSHA 30 certification or ability to obtain Proficient computer skills with experience utilizing Outlook, MS Office (EXCEL/WORD).Valid motor vehicle operator’s license.Successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) background check and MVR check, and as applicable drug testing.
