Your expertise will support accurate diagnostics and contribute to better health outcomes for diverse patient populations.Responsibilities:Draw high-quality blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established procedures.Prepare specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring proper labeling, handling, and documentation.Explain procedures clearly, creating a comfortable environment that fosters trust and confidence.Maintain accurate records of collected specimens and related documentation in accordance with protocol.Follow safety and infection control guidelines at all times to ensure a secure environment for patients and staff.Assist with specimen processing tasks, including labeling, centrifuging, and preparing samples for transport.Demonstrate professionalism and sensitivity to patient confidentiality, ensuring a positive experience.Support process improvements and team goals through effective communication and collaboration.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to safety policies.Required Skills:Proven proficiency in phlebotomy techniques, including pediatric and geriatric blood draws.Strong attention to detail, ensuring error-free specimen collection and documentation.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to put patients at ease.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, managing time effectively.Data entry skills with keyboard proficiency for accurate record keeping.Knowledge of proper safety and infection control standards.Reliability and punctuality, with a demonstrated commitment to attendance and timeliness.Physical ability to perform blood draws, including standing for extended periods and handling supplies.Nice to Have Skills:Medical assistant or paramedic training.Phlebotomy certification (particularly in California, Nevada, and Washington).Previous experience working in a clinical, hospital, or outpatient setting.Customer service experience in a retail or service-focused environment.Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.Preferred Education and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent required.At least 6 months of direct phlebotomy experience is mandatory; over one year of experience is highly preferred.Experience working with diverse patient populations, including children and elderly, is a plus.Keyboard/data entry familiarity and reliability are essential for accurate record keeping.Other Requirements:Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime, based on staffing needs.Reliable personal transportation is required; candidates should include their home city and commute time in their resume (preferably within 20-25 minutes to the worksite).Proof of phlebotomy certification (if applicable) and current licensure where required.Ability to pass a background check and health screening.Ability to perform physical tasks associated with specimen collection and transport.Excellent punctuality and commitment to scheduled shifts; excessive absenteeism or tardiness may result in termination.This is a fantastic opportunity for dedicated phlebotomists looking to grow within a reputable clinical environment, providing essential support to patient diagnostics and fostering community health.
