SUE works closely with engineers and utility owners to help identify utility conflicts using an array of technologies, including electromagnetic line locators, ground-penetrating radar, GPS, conventional survey, and vacuum excavation. The work requires a high level of precision and technical ability.\nWEI is seeking a SUE Technician for our Raleigh, NC office. The position requires a person who is thorough, self-directed, and having sound interpersonal skills to build and maintain professional relationships at all organization levels. Salary based on education and experience - from $37,500 to $55,000 per year.\nBenefits\nHealth/Vision insurance\nDental insurance\nLife insurance\nPaid Time Off (PTO)\n401k\n10 paid holidays\nKey Responsibilities\nDesignate existing utilities using electromagnetic and geophysical technologies\nProvide accurate measurements for utilities in project limits\nProvide accurate field drawings and sketches\nRead and interpret utility records, as-built and survey drawings, and highway design plans\nOperate a vacuum excavation truck and perform test holes to expose utilities\nWork with a team of talented individuals to help tackle a wide variety of projects\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nAbility to lift and move heavy equipment with ease\nAbility to work outside with minimal problems\nAbility to walk long distances of several miles daily\nAbility to prioritize the safety of yourself and others\nAssist and coordinate with Project Manager/staff with tasks related to a variety of projects\nCapable of being resourceful; decisive; effective; flexible; persistent; and self-reliant\nCapacity to read, comprehend and communicate at a high level\nCapacity to quickly grasp new technologies\nCapacity to exercise judgment in making preliminary selections and adaptations of alternatives\nDemonstrate strong technical measurement skills\nEducation and Experience\nHigh School Diploma or GED\n2 plus years’ experience in utility location and designating\nValid driver’s license and an acceptable motor vehicle record\nMust be willing to travel as necessary to various job sites.
