Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant specializing in Plastic Surgery to join our breast reconstructive healthcare team. In this role, you will provide expert clinical support in breast reconstructive procedures, ensuring exceptional patient care through comprehensive assessments, treatment planning, and procedural assistance. Responsibilities Perform detailed patient assessments, including physical examinations, vital signs, and medical history reviews to determine suitability for plastic surgery procedures. Assist surgeons during operative procedures such as breast cancer reconstruction. Surgical experience is required, minimum 1 year. Manage preoperative and postoperative patient care, including discharge planning, wound care instructions, and follow-up assessments. Conduct triage for urgent patient concerns related to post-surgical complications or acute pain management, coordinating with the healthcare team for timely interventions. Document all patient interactions accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Veracity or Cerner; ensure compliance with medical coding standards like CPT, ICD-10, and ICD-9. Skills Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, diagnostic evaluation methods, and physical examinations pertinent to plastic surgery. Critical care experience or hospital experience in settings such as ICU or Level I/II trauma centers enhances your ability to manage complex cases effectively. Skilled in suturing techniques, aseptic procedures, and acute pain management strategies. Experience in telehealth services or outpatient clinics; capable of providing virtual consultations when needed.
