Join us.\nJob Description AECOM is seeking an Associate Engineer for one of our offices in Sacramento, CA . This role will assist with engineering design, CAD drafting, construction documentation, and project coordination to support infrastructure delivery. Responsibilities include preparing and revising engineering drawings, supporting technical analyses, and maintaining project records in accordance with project standards. The role offers practical experience in transportation engineering and construction while contributing to the successful delivery of high-speed rail infrastructure.\nResponsibilities Prepare, revise, and maintain engineering drawings, sketches, exhibits, and construction support documents using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, or other approved CAD software\nAssist engineers with engineering design, drafting, and construction support activities for transportation infrastructure projects\nReview engineering drawings, plans, specifications, and supporting documents for completeness and accuracy under the guidance of senior staff\nIncorporate redline markups and revisions into engineering drawings and maintain drawing files in accordance with established project standards\nSupport field engineering staff by preparing construction sketches, record drawings, and as-built documentation\nAssist with engineering calculations, quantity takeoffs, technical reports, and preparation of project exhibits and presentations\nCoordinate with engineers, designers, surveyors, construction managers, contractors, and other project team members to support project delivery\nMaintain organized electronic engineering files and assist with document management and version control processes\nParticipate in design reviews, project meetings, and construction coordination activities\nPerform other engineering and technical duties as assigned in support of project delivery\nQualifications BA/BS + 2 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.\nDemonstrated proficiency using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or MicroStation\nWorking knowledge of engineering drawings, drafting principles, and construction documentation\nProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite\nStrong organizational, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills\nAbility to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team\nPreferred Requirements:\nExperience supporting transportation, rail, highway, bridge, or other infrastructure projects\nExperience using Autodesk AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Bentley MicroStation, or OpenRoads\nFamiliarity with Bluebeam Revu, ProjectWise, or electronic document management systems\nEngineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or progress toward obtaining EIT\nFamiliarity with Caltrans standards and transportation engineering practices\nInternship or academic project experience involving engineering design, CAD drafting, or construction support\nAdditional Information At AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
