In this hands-on role, you'll operate a sit-down forklift, keep production lines supplied with materials, move finished goods throughout the warehouse, and play a critical role in maintaining inventory accuracy and production flow. Apply today!\n\nMaterial Handler / Forklift Operator Responsibilities:\n- Monitor and request materials and color from storage locations to production lines\n- Ensure that all lines have materials delivered in a timely manner to avoid potential extrusion line shutdowns\n- Manage transactions performed by computer or a RF hand scanner such as receipts, moves, counts, reservations and/or other transactions needed\n- Scan, apply LP label, and move finished or fabricated products from production lines to correct warehouse/storage locations\n- Perform daily forklift inspections per shift\n- Report all damage or discrepancies to the Quality Manger and/or Distribution Lead\n- Perform non-electronic entries such as scrap with accuracy and date with handwritten entries on paper\n- Perform cycle counts, as requested, to ensure inventory accuracy to avoid stock outs\n- Re-weigh or recount materials being returned to proper locations\n- Assist production as time permits\n- Adhere to company safety, environmental, and quality policies and procedures\n\nRequirements for Material Handler / Forklift Operator:\n- High school diploma or equivalent preferred\n- Experience operating sit down forklift\n- Three years of experience working in a manufacturing plant and/or warehouse experience preferred\n- Able to communicate in English, both written and verbal\n- Basic computer skills\n- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to work well and communicate with others preferred\n- Valid Illinois State Driver’s license\n- Possess forklift certification or able to obtain forklift certification\n- Able to lift 40 pounds repetitively\n- Able to work in a production environment\n- Able to work in manufacturing environment occasionally being exposed to dust, odors, fumes and noise\n\nIND133\n\nQPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
