The Pool/Maintenance Tech is responsible for the daily maintenance, servicing, and cleaning of all campus swimming pools and athletic fields, ensuring they are safe, operational, and compliant with all applicable health, safety, and regulatory standards.Primary FunctionsPerform routine repairs and maintains commercial pool(s) as required by L.A County Health DepartmentRepair or replace pool pumps, motors, filters, heaters, chemical feeders, and related electrical equipment.Identify and report equipment deterioration, leaks, hazards, and safety issues through the work order system.Monitor, maintain, and document pool chemistry; ensure adequate inventory of chemicals and supplies and place orders as needed.Perform routine grooming, cleaning, and upkeep of athletic areas to ensure fields are safe, attractive, and game ready. This will include setting up fields for events. Secondary FunctionsSupport broader Operations Department functions as needed, including schoolwide event setup, logistical support for campus activities, and assisting with general maintenance tasks beyond pools and athletic fields.Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities RequiredHigh school diploma or GED required, CPO certificate minimum two years’ experience in pool maintenance technician L.A county health department certified prefer or obtain one within six months from date hired.Demonstrated ability and technical skills to perform electrical, mechanical, cleaning duty’s, plumbing and site repairsGeneral knowledge of OSHA and CAL-OSHA, L.A County Health Department safety standards pertaining to pool maintenance activitiesFlexibility to be available in the event of emergencies or when needed.Working knowledge of the selection, installation, repair and maintenance of department equipment Ability to express ideas effectively and conciselyAbility to work within the overall organization of the Operations DepartmentAbility to work in a team environment. Good working knowledge of the methods, tools, and equipment used in building, mechanical and electrical maintenance repair and construction activities.Mechanical aptitudeKnowledge of safety practices and proceduresValid motor vehicle operator’s licenseAbility and knowledge to drive and work required equipment maintain athletic fieldsMaintain appropriate inventory of pool chemistry and suppliesOrder all chemicals needed for all pools and spasEffective verbal and listening communications skillsTime management skillsAbility to work with little or no supervisionIn addition to the position described above, you agree to perform other duties and responsibilities as shall be assigned by Head of School or other supervisorPhysical Requirements And Work EnvironmentCourteous manner in dealing with public.
