Hazel, Inc., a total site development contractor with more than 60 years of experience, is seeking an experienced Flatbed Driver to join our team.\nThe Flatbed Driver reports to and works under the direction of the Yard Foreman. William A. Hazel, Inc. operates throughout Northern Virginia, with occasional work extending into West Virginia.\nQualifications\nValid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) in good standing\nLegally authorized to work in the United States\n1–3 years of flatbed driving experience; construction industry experience preferred\nExperience safely securing and transporting oversized, irregular, or heavy loads, including heavy equipment, steel, and lumber\nClean driving record\nCurrent DOT medical certification\nWorking knowledge of applicable DOT regulations, load securement requirements, and hours-of-service regulations\nAbility to work safely around active construction sites, heavy equipment, and machinery\nStrong communication skills and dependable attendance\nAbility to work early mornings, occasional overtime, and weekends as project needs require\nAbility to successfully complete the company's applicable pre-employment screening requirements, including a background check\nPosition Responsibilities\nSafely operate a Class A commercial vehicle and flatbed equipment\nProperly inspect, secure, transport, and unload materials and equipment\nFollow applicable DOT regulations, company safety procedures, and load securement requirements\nCommunicate effectively with the Yard Foreman and project personnel\nMaintain a safe and professional work environment\nPerform other related duties as assigned\nPreferred Qualifications\nEndorsements: Doubles/Triples, Tanker, or Hazmat (a plus, not required)\nExperience operating a boom truck\nFamiliarity with local job sites, material suppliers, and permitting/route restrictions\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to climb in/out of cab and onto flatbed to secure loads\nAbility to stand, bend, lift, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions\nAbility to sit for extended periods while driving\nWilliam A.
