Internal candidates should submit a letter of interest and resume to Dr. Andrea Manninen, Coordinator, at amanninen@kgcs.k12.va.us.Position Open Until FilledGeneral Description: This position develops and supports the implementation of an evidence-based literacy program and provides related educational support for teachers and students that are aligned with evidence-based reading research.Essential Responsibilities:Provides job-embedded support to teachers and staff to ensure literacy instruction is data-informed, student-centered, and evidence-basedProvides support and professional development to teachers and staff on implementing new curriculaWorks with administrators and team leads to perform literacy screening and develop student reading plans based on data analysisCollaborates with classroom teachers through PLC discussions, co-planning, co-teaching, modeling, and facilitating reflective data discussions to improve achievement for all studentsCollaborates with division leaders, administrators, teachers, coaches, and families to strengthen instruction and improve students' reading and writing proficiencyPerforms related duties as required or assignedRequired Qualifications: Education - Minimum of Bachelor's DegreeProfessional Experience - Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience at the elementary level that includes reading instructionCertifications/Licensure - Must hold or be eligible for a valid VA teaching license that includes an endorsement as a Reading SpecialistPreferred Qualifications: Education - Master's Degree in ReadingProfessional Experience - 5 years of teaching experience, a teacher leader role, and experience presenting professional development or training teacherSalary Information:2026-2027 Proposed Teacher Salary ScaleSee THIS LINK for current salary scales.Educational Supplements:Master's: +7% of base salaryBA + 15: $750Teacher National Board Certification: $2,000Doctorate: $2000Additional Information:This is a 10-month/200 day position
