The Project Control Analyst will assist Project Controls Director and team to establish operating policies to bring standardization and mitigate project risk.\nPrimary Job Function:\nCollaborate closely with Project Controls, Project Managers, Engineers, Procurement, and Construction teams to understand reporting needs and provide data-driven insights.\nDesign, develop, and maintain dashboards and visualizations using Power BI, incorporating advanced Power Query and data modeling techniques.\nBuild and maintain Excel models, including Pivot Tables, VBA macros, and financial modeling for forecasting and cost control.\nAnalyze project performance data (e.g., WIP, cost variance, schedule variance) to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.\nEvaluate projects using data-driven methods to determine whether they are on track or in trouble.\nDevelop and maintain SQL queries to retrieve and validate data from relational databases.\nSupport and maintain metadata integrity, ensure job tagging, data dictionaries, and hierarchies are accurate and updated.\nLead and enforce data governance practices, ensuring compliance with internal standards and industry best practices.\nCollaborate with accounting to ensure accurate cost hierarchies and integration with financial systems like JDE.\nCreate and maintain scalable training programs and process documentation for enterprise-wide adoption.\nContinuously identify and implement improvements in the data analytics and project controls processes.\nTechnical Skills:\nRequired:\nPower BI – including Power Query, DAX, data modeling\nMicrosoft Excel – Advanced formulas, Pivot Tables, VBA/macros, modeling\nSQL – Writing and validating complex queries\nEarned Value Management (EVM) – Including productivity KPIs and Rules of Credit\nBasic Relational Database Knowledge – Schema, normalization, joins, keys\nETL/Data Pipeline Concepts – basic understanding preferred\nDocument Control Tools/Systems – Experience maintaining project documentation\nNice to Have:\nPower Automate – (preferred) for workflow automation\nData Governance – Policy enforcement, stewardship, and integrity tracking\nHierarchy & Metadata Management – WBS, Org Hierarchy, Chart of Accounts, Job Metadata\nJDE (JD Edwards)\nINEIGHT Estimate\nOracle Primavera P6\nExperience:\n5+ years of experience in data analysis and project controls reporting\nDemonstrated success in creating dashboards, reports, and analytical models\nExperience in cost control, forecasting, and earned value reporting\nFamiliarity with document control practices across business units\nOil & gas or industrial construction experience preferred\nEducation/Training:\nBachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Accounting, Construction Management, Finance, Engineering, Economics, Information Systems)\nPMP or equivalent project management certification is a plus\nCompetencies:\nAnalytical Thinking & Problem-Solving – Diagnose performance issues using data; develop actionable solutions\nData Visualization – Ability to create impactful visuals that tell the story behind the data\nCommunication – Strong ability to explain technical data to non-technical stakeholders\nProject Management – Juggle multiple deadlines and shifting priorities\nBusiness Acumen – Ability to learn and understand business operations, processes, and functions, and the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation\nCollaboration – Partner cross-functionally to deliver accurate and timely information\nContinuous Learning – Stay current with evolving tools, trends, and governance practices\nPhysical Demands:\nRegularly required to sit, talk and hear.\nFrequently required to reach with hands and arms to grasp.\nOccasionally required to stand;
