Senior Aircraft Environmental Control Systems (ECS) Engineer Location: Long Beach, CA (100% Onsite)Duration: 12 Months Contract (Potential Extension)Shift: 1st Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)Pay Rate: Up to 70/hrOverviewWe are seeking an experienced Mechanical Systems Design & Analysis Engineer to support Aerospace Global Services Spares Engineering Design organization. This team provides engineering solutions for aircraft part obsolescence and supports design engineering activities across commercial aircraft platforms.The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in Aircraft Environmental Control Systems (ECS), mechanical systems analysis, supplier-driven design changes, certification activities, and commercial aircraft engineering. This role requires close collaboration with suppliers, procurement, systems engineering, stress analysis, and materials teams to develop and implement effective engineering solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform mechanical system design and analysis for aircraft Environmental Control Systems (ECS).Support systems including:ATA 21 Air ConditioningAir Distribution & VentilationCabin Pressure ControlEquipment Cooling SystemsNitrogen Generating Systems (NGS)ATA 26 Cargo Fire ProtectionATA 30 Ice & Rain ProtectionATA 36 Pneumatic SystemsAircraft Oxygen SystemsDevelop engineering solutions for obsolete aircraft components and supplier-driven changes.Review, validate, and approve engineering analyses and technical documentation.Coordinate with suppliers, procurement, stress engineering, materials engineering, and project engineering teams.Lead technical discussions with suppliers and support design approvals.Guide and mentor junior engineers on technical tasks and engineering processes.Support certification activities and design release processes.Ensure compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and engineering procedures.Improve analytical methods, engineering processes, quality, and efficiency.Support tooling-related engineering changes and manufacturing considerations.Required QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.Minimum 8 years of experience in aircraft Environmental Control Systems (ECS) engineering.Minimum 5 years of experience within a commercial aircraft environment.Strong experience with:ATA 21 Environmental Control SystemsATA 26 Cargo Fire ProtectionATA 30 Ice & Rain ProtectionATA 36 PneumaticsOxygen SystemsCompressible and Incompressible Fluid MechanicsSystems EngineeringComputational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)Experience with 2D and 3D design and GD&T interpretation.Experience supporting design release processes, certification activities, supplier changes, and tooling-related engineering work.Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.Preferred Qualifications10+ years of Design Engineering experience in commercial aircraft programs.Boeing 7-Series aircraft experience.Douglas Aircraft program experience.Experience supporting Production, Sub-Components, or Spares Engineering.Prior experience working directly with suppliers and managing technical coordination activities.Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical reviews.Preferred Tools & SystemsExperience with one or more of the following:CATIA V5 (Routing, Tubing, Ducting)ENOVIAPDMSTEALTHQMAPREDARSETACESPECBridgeOther aerospace engineering and configuration management tools
