The Operations Leader ensures resources are deployed effectively, operational performance meets or exceeds targets, and teams have the tools, training, and support required to perform at a high level.Success in this role is measured by operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, team development, project cycle time, margin performance, and overall business performance.ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:Core Leadership Focus (LMA)· Lead, Manage, and Hold Accountable (LMA) all first-level direct reports to clearly defined goals, performance expectations, and behavioral standards.· Establish clear expectations, goals, and performance metrics aligned with company objectives.· Provide structured communication, consistent follow-up, and accountability rhythms (L10s, scorecards, KPIs).· Build a leadership bench by developing department leaders and succession planning.· Foster a culture of inter-departmental teamwork, personal accountability, continuous improvement, and customer focus.· Ensure effective utilization of operational resources, balancing workload against capacity, skill sets, and timelines.· Own overall operational performance, ensuring results meet or exceed established targets as part of achieving our overall plan for the year and ensuring we are on path to achieve 3-year picture.· Directly impact Cost of Goods Sold and drive YoY improvements in Gross Margin.· Ensure leaders proactively manage team composition and development, including hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and succession planning through coaching and direct involvement in the process.· Ensure teams utilize and are accountable to the tools, systems, processes, and resources necessary to execute work efficiently and accurately.· Be an active and engaged member of the Senior Leadership Team, helping formulate and deliver strategies that will ensure the business achieves or exceeds its annual plan and is on path to deliver on 3 and 10 year goals.Operational Excellence· Develop, implement, and enforce operational standards, procedures, and best practices.· Ensure effective use of business systems, including CRM, ERP, etc., to support efficiency, scalability, and accuracy.· Continuously evaluate workflows, capacity, and tooling to improve productivity and gross margin.· Lead continuous improvement initiatives across all operational areas.Operations Leadership & Execution· Oversee the end-to-end operational flow of the business, including Engineering, Materials, Shop, and Customer Care.· Ensure alignment across all departments to support efficient execution and customer satisfaction.· Analyze current and forecasted workloads to align staffing with current and future business demand.· Monitor operational performance metrics including margin, utilization, cycle time, and on-time delivery.· Identify risks and implement proactive solutions to protect delivery, quality, and profitability.· Partner with Sales to ensure operational capability feasibility and strong project handoffs.Talent Development & Performance Management· Participate in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring across operational teams.· Develop and execute onboarding processes to accelerate new hire effectiveness.· Conduct and document regular performance reviews and development planning.· Ensure systems are in place to coach and mentor team members and leaders.· Address performance issues promptly, including coaching, PIPs, and disciplinary action when required.· Build leadership capability across all levels of the organization.Safety, Compliance & Quality· Maintain compliance with OSHA, ISO, Workers' Compensation, and applicable industry codes.· Ensure safety, quality, and compliance are embedded across all operational processes.· Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.· Ensure consistent application of quality standards across all departments.Organizational Contribution· Serve as a key member of the leadership team, contributing to company-wide strategy and planning.· Collaborate cross-functionally to improve operational consistency and business outcomes.· Communicate goals, expectations, and performance clearly across all teams.· Support budget development and monitor performance against targets.*An individual in this position must be able to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed above. Proven experience leading cross-functional teams. Strong understanding of project-based and/or custom manufacturing environments. Demonstrated success in driving operational improvements and team development. Strong Communication (listening, questioning, speaking), Organizational, and Time Management skills.Technology/Equipment: Experience with CRM, ERP systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and SharePoint.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Education: Postbaccalaureate Degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, or related field.Experience and/or Training: 10+ years of experience overseeing engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain functions. Proven experience leading operational transformations, scaling organizations, or significant growth initiatives. Knowledge and understanding of the EOS operating system for business.Technology/Equipment: Experience with Microsoft CRM (Dynamics365), Microsoft ERP (Business Central), Microsoft Office Suite, and SharePoint.PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:Sit or stand for extended periods of time.Speak and hear communications.Occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.Occasional travel (local, national, international) is required.May be required to work hours outside of the typical 7:30am - 4:30pm day.WORKING ENVIRONMENT:The noise level in the work environment is from quiet to moderate.
