Paralegal
We're seeking a skilled and experienced paralegal to support our growing legal team. The ideal candidate will use their experience and organizational skills to prepare and maintain legal documents, file motions, interview clients, and conduct legal research. If you're looking to play an invaluable role at a firm and enjoy helping others, we'd love to hear from you.Compensation: $64,000 - $90,000 yearly based on experience (performance-based incentives tied to billables and results).Responsibilities:Meet or exceed 120 billable hours per monthCommunicate with clients, experts, and other parties; provide case updates and gather informationMonitor case progress, deadlines, and key milestonesDraft legal documents, including: Pleadings, motions, court documents, marital settlement agreements, reports, forms, chronologies, and indexesPrepare cases for mediations, hearings, and trialsManage discovery , including preparing and organizing responsesConduct legal research on laws and case precedentsAssist attorneys in court as neededEnter billable and non-billable time accurately and consistentlyPerform administrative tasks (calls, filing, document organization)Coordinate subpoenas and work with process serversPrepare exhibits, organize witnesses, and support trial preparationDraft legal documents such as complaints, interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, pretrial orders, briefs, and affidavitsConduct client interviews and gather relevant case informationQualifications:Completed a paralegal program (Associate's or equivalent); Bachelor's preferred3+ years of experience in a law firm under an attorneyExperience as a legal assistant or legal secretary is a plusRequired SkillsStrong multitasking abilityExcellent written and verbal communicationStrong client-facing/customer service skillsAbility to handle difficult or emotional clients professionallyStrong organizational and time management skillsAbility to work collaboratively with attorneys and legal staffPreferred• ABA-approved paralegal certification or advanced paralegal educationAbout Company:At Z Family Law, we believe every ending is the start of a new beginning.
