S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to coordinate our Production function. The CNC Programming group is responsible for creating CNC programs throughout the fabrication department, this includes creating programs for lathes, mills, press brakes, punch press, laser, waterjet, and other technologies as we keep improving our processing equipment. You will be working with various types of drawings and blueprints ranging from simple hand drawn documents or detail drawings to CAD generated assemblies. You will be required to maintain high quality and productivity standards and adhere to all applicable safety practices and procedures. This position requires good verbal communication skills and the ability to work closely with other Programmers, machinists, engineers, designers, and production personnel in a team environment .\nKey Responsibilities:\nCreating and modifying 2D Sketches using the Solid Edge CAD software application\nCreating and modifying basic 3D part models using the Solid Edge CAD software application\nCreating 2D DXF Files from Solid Edge models and other available computer-generated files.\nDeveloping and maintaining tooling standards, and tool code assembly drawings\nSelecting appropriate tools, feeds, and speeds to be used during machining of the part.\nGenerating G and M machine code using various CAM software applications\nBasic programming of Robotic equipment applications.\nInvestigate trends in cutting tool applications.\nInvestigating new technologies regarding tooling and processing methods as they relate to CNC machine tools.\nWorking with factory personnel to troubleshoot both old and new CNC programs\nPerform associated data tasks in Oracle and 3DX applications.\nAttend in-person or virtual meetings as requested or required\nOther responsibilities as assigned\nWhat you will need to succeed:\nHigh School diploma/GED Equivalent\n3+ year of experience operating or programming machining equipment\nExperience performing offline CNC programming and basic robotic programming\nHas, or is pursuing, certificate in CNC/CAM related field. 3-year minimum experience with metal cutting operations.\nAbility to read blueprints, perform shop math, use of inspection tools, and ability to read basic machine code commands.\nGood interpersonal skills to work with engineers, designers and machinists.\nExperience in use of SolidEdge 3D modeling, or equivalent CAD software.\nMinimum 1 year experience offline machine tool programming. (Esprit preferred)\nPreferred experience programming robotic applications.\nMaintain regular and punctual attendance\nCommunicate effectively and respectfully with others\nMAJOR PHYSICAL DEMANDS\nStanding: Occasional, during program prove outs at machines.\nLifting: Occasional light lifting of parts.\nWalking: Frequent walking moderate distances (1 mile) within the S&C complex.\nCarrying: Occasional carrying of CNC tools or parts short distances.\nReaching: Occasional reaching to investigate parts in machines.\nHandling: Occasional handling of CNC tools or parts.\nOther: Frequent use of computer workstation monitor, keyboard and mouse.\nSome travel is required.
