{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"f7afa67f080a2b56338930b9","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/f7afa67f080a2b56338930b9","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/f7afa67f080a2b56338930b9","title":"Senior Network Engineer","description":"**ACTIVE TS/SCI SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED**\n\nOur work depends on a Sr. Network Engineer with TS/SCI security clearance and willing to take CI Polygraph in joining our team to support our intelligence customer activities in Springfield, VA or St. Louis, MO.\n\nWhat you get to do every day:\n\nSupport customer's Data Center network, application delivery, and network security environments to include operations and maintenance (O&M), system integration/deployment and solution development/design\nProvide tier III SME level support within the incident management process\nWork independently with project stakeholders, system owners, project managers, and technical staff to deploy or enhance IT solutions\nCoordinate with project staff for solution development and deployment while managing project aspects within applicable technical area of responsibility\nCollaborate with system engineers across teams and disciplines to ensure solutions meet established technical goals and are deployed within established timelines\nEvaluates new network technologies and makes recommendations to stakeholders regarding the integration of these technologies into the existing network\nDevelops and implements methodologies for analysis, testing, and support of LAN and WAN networks\nDiagnosing hardware and software problems and replacing defective components\nSupport operations and maintain activities and administer networks including hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations\nEnsure systems are integrated with existing performance and availability management framework\nSchedule and coordinate system changes within the established change management framework\nEvaluate new system hardware and software to ensure optimal integration with existing hardware and compliance with customer standards\nPrepare technical proposals for presentation to the engineering review boards for adding new technologies to the network\nPerform a full range of upgrades in accordance with existing network architecture\nReview user requests for upgrades or additions to the network to assess impact on network performance and provide advice and guidance on the most practical technical approach to meeting user requirements\nPerform long term O&M activities to include tier 3 troubleshooting and problem resolution\nInterface with external tier 4 support staff and vendor support as required for problem resolution\nUtilize complex network analysis tools to identify and correct problems in the network while maintaining logs and records associated with reported problems or situations\nPrepare troubleshooting procedures for restoring the network to optimal performance levels\nDevelop and document standard operating procedures (SOP) for use by technical support staff\nProvide fault management for the network and supports performance management functions.\n\nWhat you need:\n\n10 years of experience preferred with several years focusing specifically on data center networking and technologies\nSME level understanding and experience with dynamic routing protocols to include OSPF and BGP\nSME level understanding of data center technologies. Familiarity with EVPN, VXLAN, Cisco vPC, ACI, F5 load balancing and RSTP is a plus\nUnderstanding and experience analyzing TCP/UDP application flow using external network analyzers along with built-in network switch/router diagnostic tools\nFamiliarity with DOD STIGs and SD-WAN\nExperience with MS Visio and documenting network architectures and application flows\nStrong oral and written communication skills\nEffective at communicating technical ideas through presentations, documentation, meetings\nLearn and evaluate new technologies\nResponsible for managing their own projects from start to finish so initiative, time management, and attention to detail are critical traits and skills\n\nWhat would make you stand out:\n\nProfessional or expert level certifications (at a minimum CCNP, F5-CTS or JNCIP) - CCIE/F5-CSE/JNCIE preferred\nExperience with Cisco, F5, Juniper and Palo Alto hardware and operating systems is a plus\n\nAdditional Information\n\nAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.\nCompensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position.
