Partner closely with Operations to support the control room, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design and implement solutions that improve unit optimization, process safety, and reliability. Keep procedures and system documentation current, bring technical and analytical insight to business planning and project development, help ensure systems and changes meet safety, reliability, and compliance requirements, and maintain system backups and contingency recovery procedures. Participate in a rotating on‑call schedule to help resolve after‑hours system issues.\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\nIf you don’t have a four‑year degree, we may consider a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in lieu of formal education and training. Related roles may include Control Systems Engineer/Analyst/Technician, Process Control Engineer, Instrumentation & Electrical Technician, Analyzer Technician, PCN Administrator, System Engineer/Technician, and similar positions.\n\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering (Computer, Electrical, Chemical), or Information Technology (or closely related field).\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nExperience with DCS and control systems in refining, chemical, petrochemical, or other complex process facilities.\n\nCapable of handling multiple complex projects simultaneously with impacts across Chevron sites.\n\nFlexibility to adjust work hours as needed to support communications with remote sites across time zones.\n\nA strong sense of ownership and the ability to work independently and as part of a team; proactive in identifying opportunities for improvement.\n\nWillingness to support outages at remote sites, which may require being away from the home office for several weeks to over a month.\n\nAbility to work with minimal supervision, set priorities, and manage schedules. May provide work direction to others or lead a small team.\n\nSpecial Considerations\n\nRegular schedule is 9/80. Member of a rotating on‑call support team for after‑hours system issues. Expect occasional 12‑hour shift work as part of 24x7 support for unit startups, shutdowns, emergency callouts, etc. Travel for training, internal Chevron needs, or external 3rd party engagements may occasionally be needed (0 to 4 weeks per year).\n\nRelocation Options\nRelocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.\n\nInternational Considerations\nExpatriate assignments will not be considered. This role is not eligible for expatriate assignment.
