CDL Yard Operations & Fleet Support Lead

Overview We are seeking a highly organized and experienced candidate to work in our transfer station. You must currently hold a valid CDL Class A or B license along with a medical card to be our Yard Operations & Fleet Support Lead to oversee daily yard activities, handle drivers and 30 trucks. Mechanic experience is big plus. This role is essential in ensuring the efficiency of our station. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, familiarity with different truck configurations, and leadership capabilities to coordinate yard activities effectively. This position offers an opportunity to lead a dynamic team while maintaining safety and operational excellence. Hands on Experience is a must. This job will require you to work on Saturday's as needed. Duties Key Responsibilities Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections on trucks and trailers on a daily basis in rotation. Perform light maintenance tasks, including basic repairs. Handle tire and brake work, including tire monitoring and pressure checks. Address driver issues, provide support, and ensure safety compliance. Perform road tests for new drivers as needed. Daily Driver Interaction, attendance and some light reporting on issues. Complete QC inspections on all equipment in an organized, systematic manner. Jockey and move equipment safely around the yard, or out for repairs when required. Maintain clear communication with dispatch, drivers, and management Utilize basic computer skills, including email, Excel, and Word. Assist with diagnostic processes. Reporting on status of operations daily. Qualifications CDL Class A or B with valid medical card. Tractor and trailer experience required. Basic mechanical background with tire and brake knowledge. Ability to perform physical work and operate safely. Strong leadership qualities with a take‑charge personality. Bilingual (preferred but not required). Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Why This Role?
