You will have the opportunity to build lasting relationships with customers, guiding them in their purchasing decisions to ensure their satisfaction. Your role will also involve maintaining the visual standards of the store's unique environment, restocking shelves and ensuring all merchandise is displayed in an appealing manner. As part of our retail team, you will enjoy a fast-paced environment while developing your sales skills and product knowledge. Join us in creating a welcoming atmosphere where every customer feels valued and appreciated!Store Associate Job Duties include but are not limited to:Greet customers as they enter the location.\r\nAnswer customer questions, respond to customer requests and resolve customer issues.\r\nComplete accurate and efficient register transactions.\r\nPerform inventory duties such as unloading, scanning and stocking products onto the shelves.\r\nMaintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.\r\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\r\nRequired skills include but are not limited to:Excellent critical and problem-solving skills.\r\nCustomer service skills.\r\nWritten and verbal communication skills.\r\nAbility to perform simple calculations.\r\nExtensive knowledge about the store product and services and customer-related policies.\r\nAbility to operate or to quickly learn the store's point-of-sale system.\r\nIntegrity.\r\nAbility to multitask and work in a fast-paced and busy environment.\r\nGeneral knowledge of Fabrics and Crafts is a plus.\r\nKnowledge of Hardware is a plus.\r\nPhysical Requirements:Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the retail space.\r\nMust be able to bend, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs.\r\nEducation and Experience:High School diploma or equivalent preferred.\r\nPrevious retail experience preferred.\r\nSuccessful completion of the job training period.\r\nLeadership Skills:Demonstrate leadership qualities and promote a positive, safe and clean work atmosphere.\r\nStore Hours:Mon - Fri: 9am to 6pm; Sat - 8am to 5pm; Sunday 10am - 5pm.\r\nMust be available to work weekends on a rotating basis.Benefits (For Full-Time Employees):Paid time off.\r\n401(k) and 401(k) Employer Match.\r\nHealth Insurance.\r\nDental Insurance.\r\nVision Insurance.\r\nStore Employee Discount.Opportunities available for career growth and development.ABOUT OUR STORE:Surplus City was established in 1976 and has been a reliable, family run supplier of merchandise for over 40 years.
