Position Type:Elementary School Teaching/Physical Education w/ HealthDate Posted:3/23/2026Location:Lincoln Elementary School District 156Physical Education w/ HealthPosition Purpose:Under the general supervision of the School Principal, promoting physical fitness, teaching sports and movement skills, and encouraging lifelong physical activity.Essential Performance Responsibilities• Demonstrate a commitment to equity, excellence and high expectations for all students and a commitment to the academic and personal well-being of each student• Establish and manage student learning in a safe, positive and respectful learning environment• Develop, plan and implement instruction that addresses the needs of students in a manner that promotes improvements in physical, social and emotional wellness• Maintain accurate and updated grades for students and adhere to departmental and school-wide grading procedures and timelines• Communicate regularly with students, parents, and case managers regarding student progress• Collaborate with teachers to incorporate other content areas into the PE/Health curriculum• Assess student progress, analyze results and adapt instruction to improve student wellness outcomes• Demonstrate a commitment to professional growth through reflection, teacher collaboration and monitoring and assessing professional learning• Participate in regularly scheduled professional development as assigned• Exhibit a high degree of professionalismAdditional DutiesPerforms other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.Note: The above description is illustrative of tasks and responsibilities.
