Job Title: Product Delivery Process Weld Manufacturing EngineerLocation: Des Moines Works Shift: 1st Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM) | Minimal Overtime Work Type: Fully OnsiteJob SummaryWe are seeking a Product Delivery Process Weld Manufacturing Engineer to support manufacturing operations within a shop-floor environment. This role focuses on welding process development, automation, tooling implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives supporting new product launches and manufacturing efficiency.Key ResponsibilitiesConcept, design, and procure weld tooling, robotic weld systems, specialized racks, and material handling equipment.Utilize engineering tools to determine process sequence, communicate risks, and ensure safe and ergonomic manufacturing methods.Support issue resolution activities and drive achievement of quality and production metrics.Participate in quality initiatives including:Function Geometry Reviews (FGR)Design Process Assembly Reviews (DPAR)Process Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (PFMEA)Identify and implement product performance improvements and cost reduction opportunities within welding operations.Develop and implement lean manufacturing cell layouts to improve material flow and presentation.Support capital and labor estimates through accurate routing creation and labor planning within SAP.Assist with launch and production readiness for new product lines.Lead and support manufacturing improvement projects from concept through implementation.Required SkillsUnderstanding of weld tooling design, robotic/automation systems, work center design, and line layout.Experience supporting complex welded assemblies and manufacturing processes.Strong problem-solving skills with ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Familiarity with:Microsoft OfficeProject planning tools (wPlanner/MPP)SAP3D modeling softwareAbility and willingness to travel up to 25%.Preferred QualificationsExperience with automated manufacturing work cells or robotic programming.Experience using Creo, SolidWorks, and/or AutoCAD.Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerances (GD&T).Experience working in a union manufacturing environment.Shop floor manufacturing experience including work measurement or incentive pay systems.Knowledge of capital budgeting and capital equipment justification.Understanding of Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP).Education & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Weld, Mechanical Engineering, or related Technology ORMinimum 5 years of technical experience supporting automated welding operations in lieu of a degree.Work EnvironmentFully onsite position.Business casual dress code.Shop-floor manufacturing environment.Approximately 50% of time spent on feet within the factory.Safety footwear (metatarsal boots) required starting Day 1.Interviews conducted via Teams; onsite interviews may be arranged for local candidates.Additional RequirementsMust be comfortable working in a manufacturing/factory environment.Occasional travel between nearby facilities may be required.Position may require operating approved internal transportation vehicles within the facility after completing required safety training.No visa sponsorship available now or in the future.
