{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"f6f4bc8fa5d634d2a0d32ece","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/f6f4bc8fa5d634d2a0d32ece","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/f6f4bc8fa5d634d2a0d32ece","title":"Machine Operator- Sheeter","description":"Job Summary\n\nSet up, operate, and tend sheeter to ensure efficient and accurate cutting of paper stock into sheets of paper.\n\nDuties/Responsibilities\n\nSet up sheeter to include reviewing job order to ensure accuracy and completeness; preparing and mounting rolls for sheeter; setting roll stand; and programming and setting sheet size.\nFollow pre-production and production run tasks and instructions.\nOperate and tend sheeter.\nMonitor machine operations to detect malfunctions and report and resolve issues.\nInspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.\nPerform general maintenance and repairs on machine as required.\nPerform quality checks and document material usage.\nResponsible for general housekeeping and assisting in other machine operations as assigned.\nCross train on other machines as assigned.\nFoster the continual use and implementation of philosophies and tools that are taught through Sheridan's training program while promoting the concept of working together as a team and with other departments to building continuous improvement within Sheridan.\nContinually identify, develop, and implement improvements in work processes.\nConsistently and effectively serve as a positive role model by living Sheridan's core values.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\n\nBasic Qualifications\n\nKnowledge of production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.\nBasic mechanical and math skills required.\nAbility to read measurements required.\nAbility to perform repetitive tasks for an extended period of time.\nAbility to obtain and maintain a Type II forklift certification.\nKnowledge of arithmetic and structure and content of the English language to include the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition required.\nAbility to consistently and effectively work independently with little or no direction and follow up to complete assignments required.\nAbility to demonstrate practical and technical knowledge of the job including an understanding of work instructions, processes, equipment, and materials to perform the job required.\nAbility to consistently and effectively complete work and required paperwork thoroughly, accurately, and neatly following established processes and procedures required.\nAbility to consistently and effectively demonstrate initiative and creativity; teamwork and cooperation; and adhere to and comply with all company and environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures, and work rules required.\nAbility to meet deadlines and work overtime and other shifts required.\nPrompt and reliable attendance required.\n\nDesired Qualifications\n\nPrevious machine set up and operation experience preferred.\nKnowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance preferred.\n\nWorking Conditions\n\nWork is performed in a manufacturing environment with regular exposure to dust, dirt, noise, and physical hazards of machinery, plus some exposure to fumes, oils, lubricants, and chemicals. Position requires ability to move with ease in the production area; remain in stationary position for prolonged periods of time on concrete/hard surface; use hands and fingers constantly for handling, gripping, and manipulating product; constantly position oneself to complete work including bending, twisting, rotating, and reaching; and move product weighing up to 100 pounds.\n\nThe above is a general representation of the working conditions and physical demands typically associated with a manufacturing position.
