Leasing Agent
Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Leasing Agent to join our property management team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing leasing activities, fostering positive tenant relationships, and ensuring compliance with housing regulations. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of property leasing processes. The Leasing Agent will play a key role in maintaining high occupancy rates and providing exceptional customer service to prospective and current tenants.
Responsibilities
Market available properties through various channels, including online listings and community outreach
Conduct property tours and present features to prospective tenants, emphasizing leasing benefits
Manage leasing applications, verify applicant information, and process background checks
Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations and Section 8 program requirements
Prepare and negotiate lease agreements, contracts, and related legal documents
Maintain accurate records of leasing activities using Yardi, OneSite, or similar property management software
Coordinate move-in/move-out inspections and facilitate property maintenance requests
Handle tenant inquiries via phone, email, or in person with professionalism and courtesy
Upsell additional services or amenities to enhance tenant satisfaction and retention
Stay informed about local landlord-tenant laws and legal administrative procedures
Experience
Prior experience in property management or real estate administrative roles is preferred
Knowledge of LIHTC, Section 8, Fair Housing regulations, and Landlord-Tenant law is highly desirable
Proficiency with Yardi, OneSite, CMMS, or other property management systems
Strong customer service skills with a focus on conflict management and negotiation
Office experience including data entry, filing, contracts management, and phone etiquette
Background in sales or leasing within residential or commercial properties is advantageous
Familiarity with facilities management and property maintenance processes is a plus
Demonstrated ability to handle administrative tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $35,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
