Project Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Transmission Project Engineer to manage the design of high-voltage transmission line projects, including generation tie lines for wind, solar, and battery energy storage systems, as well as stand-alone transmission projects.Responsibilities:Lead the full lifecycle design of transmission line projects from early-stage conception through construction and commissioning, directing external engineering consultants to deliver high-quality designs.Collaborate with early-stage project managers and development teams to define project scope, requirements, and technical parameters during the conceptual phase.Develop scopes of work, competitively source and select engineering consultants, geotechnical firms, survey teams, and other service providers through formal bidding and contracting processes.Coordinate route selection, permitting support, and the collection of necessary engineering data, including geotechnical investigations and LiDAR surveys.Oversee the preparation and delivery of key engineering deliverables, including Issued for Bid, Issued for Procurement, Issued for Construction, and As-Built drawings, as well as design criteria and contributions to RFP/proposal documents.Serve as the primary technical representative for transmission line design, providing regular progress updates, risk assessments, and issue resolution to internal stakeholders and management.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil/Structural Engineering.Minimum of 7 years of direct experience in the development, design, engineering, and construction of high-voltage transmission line projects.Strong technical knowledge of transmission line design, including the ability to interpret one-line and three-line diagrams, general arrangements, plan and profile drawings, and other standard deliverables.Excellent communication, project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a bias for action and a focus on value engineering and design quality.Preferred Qualifications:Project engineering or project management experience.PMP and/or Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in a related discipline is a plus.Proficiency with industry-standard tools such as PLS-CADD, AutoCAD, Primavera, and Microsoft Office Suite.
