This is a senior individual contributor role focused on developing scalable software, automation, APIs, and modern data pipelines that reduce manual onboarding and accelerate client implementations. The position reports to the Director of Data Engineering.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop Python applications, APIs, and automation frameworks for data ingestion, transformation, validation, and monitoringDesign and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelinesBuild reusable integration components and software librariesModernize legacy coding/scripts, stored procedures, and manual processes using SQL, T-SQL, and PythonSupport integrations across banking, lending, digital banking, CRM, and other financial systemsImprove platform architecture, scalability, performance, and maintainabilityDesign data quality, reconciliation, monitoring, and security solutionsTroubleshoot complex production data and integration issuesSupport client implementations, onboarding, data migrations, and ongoing production processingQualificationsRequired5+ years of software engineering and/or data engineering experienceAdvanced Python programming skillsAdvanced SQL/T-SQL experienceExperience building production software applicationsExperience developing ETL/ELT pipelinesExperience designing APIs and data integration servicesStrong understanding of relational databases and data modelingExperience modernizing legacy systems and processesStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skillsExperience working in Agile development environmentsExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalPreferredExperience within the fintech or financial services industry (serving or working at banks/credit unions)Knowledge of financial data models and core banking integrationsExperience with:Azure, Azure SQL, Azure Data FactoryDatabricks, Apache Spark, Delta LakeAzure DevOps, Git, REST APIsPower BICustomer Data Platforms (CDP)MCIF PlatformsSaaS Application DevelopmentCompensationSalary Range: $120,000–$145,000 based on experience, plus competitive benefits, incentive compensation, and performance-based bonuses.Why Join Strum?At Strum Platform, we're transforming how financial institutions activate and leverage their data.
