Solutions Engineering Director – Data & AI Platform
Role OverviewSquadron Data is seeking a Solutions Engineering Director to lead technical sales engagements and partner closely with enterprise customers to design and deliver modern data architectures on Snowflake.This role sits at the intersection of technical leadership and business impact. You will work alongside Account Executives to navigate complex sales cycles, engage with senior stakeholders, and position Snowflake as the foundation for data, AI, and analytics transformation.The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on experience in data platforms (especially Snowflake), a strong background in technical leadership roles, and the ability to translate complex architectures into compelling business value for executive audiences.Key ResponsibilitiesLead technical sales strategy and execution across strategic accounts, partnering closely with Sales and executive leadershipEngage with customer architects, engineering teams, and business stakeholders to design scalable Snowflake-based data architecturesDrive complex technical discussions that clearly articulate the value of Snowflake across the full sales lifecycleBuild and present reference architectures, solution designs, and demo applications aligned to customer use casesSupport and lead enterprise Proof of Concepts (POCs) to validate Snowflake for real-world workloadsCapture the technical win by guiding customers through data engineering, analytics, and AI/ML solution designEstablish trusted advisor relationships with customer technical and business leadersContribute to account planning and growth strategy to expand platform adoption and usageRepresent customer needs internally and collaborate with product, engineering, and leadership teamsAct as a thought leader by promoting Snowflake capabilities through customer engagements, industry events, and internal initiativesThe Impact You Will HaveDrive adoption of the Snowflake AI Data Cloud as the standard enterprise data platformAccelerate deal cycles by translating complex architectures into clear, outcome-driven solutions that resonate with both technical and executive stakeholdersEnable customers to modernize legacy data environments and unlock AI-driven use casesInfluence strategic decisions by effectively engaging C-level leaders while also going deep with architects and engineering teamsAct as a trusted advisor who can sell ideas, not just solutions, shaping how customers think about data, AI, and platform strategyBalance hands-on technical depth with strategic thinking—comfortable moving from whiteboard discussions to executive presentationsSimplify complex problems into actionable, scalable solutions that drive measurable business outcomesThrive in fast-paced environments with a high degree of ownership, curiosity, and accountabilityPreferred Qualifications8+ years of experience in data platforms, analytics, or cloud technologies3+ years in a pre-sales or technical sales leadership roleStrong hands-on expertise with Snowflake (architecture, performance, ecosystem)Deep understanding of modern data architectures (Data Lake, Data Warehouse, Data Mesh, Medallion architecture)Experience with SQL, Python, and data engineering pipelinesProven ability to engage and influence C-level and senior executivesStrong communication skills with the ability to bridge business and technical conversationsBackground in consulting or solution architecture is highly preferred
