Food Services SupervisorThe Food Services Supervisor supervises the Dining and Nutrition Services team that provides patients and visitors retail and dining service operations for Carilion Clinic.Responsibilities include:Supervising and monitoring daily dining service and patient delivery service.Consulting with the leadership team on service issues and keeping them informed of related activities, needs, and problems.Advising leadership of process improvements.Managing employee schedules, monitoring and adjusting staffing levels, and hiring contingent employees as necessary to meet quality control and customer requirements.Interviewing, selecting, and orienting new employees as necessary, ensuring all required new hire paperwork is completed, and making hiring recommendations to the senior leadership team as needed.Training, coaching, evaluating, and reviewing performance, encouraging professional development.Providing and participating in department in-services.Providing technical assistance to employees to assure that service and quality standards are met.Administering hospital and departmental policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control.Assisting leadership with annual budget preparation.Preparing operations reports for leadership and other reporting as required.Receiving and reviewing job orders, prioritizing, informing management of production status, time schedules, and ensuring production deadlines are met as required.Establishing production goals, objectives, and quality control standards to better serve the customer and comply with all accreditation requirements. Monitoring workflow and time schedules to meet production goals as assigned.Ensuring compliance of Carilion policies and procedures and all regulatory guidelines as prescribed by various agencies, including JCAHO, OSHA, etc. Ensuring compliance with contracts and service line customer service agreements.Providing conflict resolution with internal and external customers as necessary.Providing excellent services to patients and customers.Communicating with vendors as necessary.Requirements include:Education: High School Degree requiredExperience: 2 years of supervisory experience in high volume food production system.Licensure, certification, and/or registration: SERV-Safe Certification or equivalent certification from the Virginia Health Department.Other Minimum Qualifications: Good communication skills. Good supervisory skills to provide technical assistance as needed.
