Data is being generated by specialist equipment and external systems, often in awkward or proprietary formats. The engineering challenge is to reliably capture that information, interpret and structure it, and build the pipelines and applications that make it usable further downstream. You’ll have the opportunity to own problems end-to-end, rather than simply picking up predefined tickets. What you could be working onBuilding Python services and pipelines that ingest and process complex dataDeveloping integrations with external systems and equipmentDesigning schemas and data models for data that isn’t always clean or standardizedMoving data reliably between on-premise environments and the cloudBuilding APIs and containerized applications around data workflowsWorking directly with technical and scientific users to understand poorly defined problems and turn them into working solutionsTaking ownership from initial requirements and architecture through to productionHelping shape engineering approaches as the platform and team continue to scaleWhat we're looking forYou don't need to tick every box.The strongest candidates will bring a combination of:Strong software engineering skills with PythonExperience building production data pipelines, ingestion systems or integrationsGood understanding of APIs, data modelling and distributed/data-processing systemsCloud engineering experience, ideally AWS, although other major cloud platforms are relevantExperience with Docker/containerized applicationsThe ability to work across backend software, infrastructure and data rather than staying within one narrow layerComfort solving ambiguous technical problems without everything being defined upfrontExperience in biotech, pharma, scientific software, laboratory technology or scientific instrumentation would be particularly interesting, but it isn't essential. We're equally interested in excellent engineers from other industries who have worked with complex data, third-party systems, proprietary formats or difficult integration problems and who are genuinely interested in applying that experience to science. Why consider it?The interesting part of this role is the breadth. You could be building a data pipeline one day, digging into an unusual file format or integration problem the next, and then building an application that allows users to actually interact with that data. You'll be joining a technically strong environment where engineers have substantial ownership and where the problems being solved have a tangible impact on how scientific teams work with their data.If you're a Python Engineer, Data Engineer, Integration Engineer or Software Engineer who enjoys building things end-to-end and solving problems where the answer isn't already obvious, I'd be keen to speak.","company":"Evolution Usa","rawCompany":"evolution usa","city":"Denver","state":"CO","isRemote":false,"isActive":false,"createdAt":"2026-10-24T09:05:00.150Z","occupations":[{"code":"15-1243.01","title":"Data Warehousing Specialists","slug":"data-warehousing-specialists"},{"code":"15-1252.00","title":"Software Developers","slug":"software-developers"},{"code":"15-1299.08","title":"Computer Systems Engineers/Architects","slug":"computer-systems-engineers-architects"}],"industries":[{"code":"541512","title":"Computer Systems Design Services","slug":"computer-systems-design-services"},{"code":"541511","title":"Custom Computer Programming Services","slug":"custom-computer-programming-services"},{"code":"513210","title":"Software Publishers","slug":"software-publishers"}],"jobPosting":{"@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"JobPosting","title":"Senior Data & Integration Engineer","description":"We’re working with a fast-growing BioTech company that is building software to make complex scientific data easier to access, structure and use. They’re looking for a Senior Engineer to join a team working right at the point where software engineering, data engineering and real-world systems integration come together.A lot of the challenge starts much earlier.
