ENGINEERING - DRAFTER

Job Title: Drafter Department: Engineering Reports to: Plant Engineer Effective Date: 01/01/2023 Job Summary: The Drafter is responsible for assisting in developing production shop tickets, shop drawing details, and assembly drawings for precast concrete systems using Revit (BIM). Duties/Responsibilities: Producing erection drawings, production tickets, hardware drawings, and working with senior drafters to detail drawings and assembly for precast concrete products to ensure the product is built to specifications Interacting with Engineers, Sales, Production, and QC to ensure product requirements are met Coordinate different phases of any project with the sales department, the contractor, the Architect, or the Structural Engineer, via telephone, FAX, or letter Preparing rework drawings for various projects for the plant Compiling and making copies of submittal data for customers, as needed Making blueprints of shop drawings as needed for submittals, customers, or plant Required Skills/Abilities: Drafting experience and the ability to illustrate and dimension drawings of assemblies as required Experience using Autodesk products including AutoCAD and Revit BIM. Previous Revit experience is a plus and desired Willingness to learn and adapt to GATE Precast standards as needed Willingness and ability to work as a team player Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel Ability to read blueprints Must be detailed oriented Excellent verbal and written skills Experience in similar concrete-related industries desired Education and Experience: Associate’s Degree in the related field Two (2) years (minimum) experience working in Construction drafting, required Computer (AUTOCAD), A MUST Physical Requirements Sitting for prolonged periods; standing; keyboarding; speaking; moving objects occasionally up to 20 lbs. Mainly an office position; but will require some time outdoors and in a production environment. Must be able to wear PPE while in the production environment which includes, work boots, hard hat, hearing protection and safety glasses.
